Beer 30 (1 Viewer)

Lager fan - always have been.

I have also been digging kölsch for a while now too. I don’t necessarily like my beer light, I like a full flavored lager and similar. But I never got the whole IPA thing, felt like the hops sucked all the moisture right out of my body.
You can get a good IPA with a lower IBU number. The lower the IBU the less hoppy the beer. I like the full flavor of the IPA but don’t like excessive hops either.

Are sour gym socks a delicacy in your neck of the planet?

:hihi:
We all do things when we are young and poor we aren't proud of. I actually had an Uncle that really liked the taste of the Beer 30 light, so I would bring him three or four 30-packs whenever I visited and he would give me the cash.

If I drink beer now, it is usually Michelob Ultra or Miller Lite, but I have quit drinking for the most part. I still have an occasional beer, but nothing like the 12-pack a night habit I used to have when I worked in the heat.

I graduated to Scotch and bourbon.

I drink beer on some occasions, but it gives me gout flareups if I drink too much. My favorite is Manhattan Project hefeweizen called Fallout.
Yeah when it's suck cold like it is right now a few fingers of bourbon has more appeal than cold beer.

There is a brewery here in Indiana called Taxman. THey have two that are my favorites, Gold Standard and La Maison. The brewery is a belgium style brewery, which is my favorite. I just can't do IPAs.

If I know I'm going to have a few, my default is Ultra Amber or Ultra Golden.

I hit the bourbon some these days. I enjoy it but I also try to limit myself on how often I drink it. I know alcohol is alcohol but the people you always see in liver failure tend to drink the hard stuff vs beer. I actually take more days off period now than I used to. I'm working my way back towards pre-pandemic levels. In those days I was weekends only and generally with other people. The pandemic taught me how to drink alone and how to drink on a weekday. Trying to change that.

I keep my drinking to weekends only, and try to avoid playing catch up :hihi:
