Before you even suggest Nussmeier to the Saints, LSU fans… (7 Viewers)

We are not drafting Nuss. He will not be our QB pick in the draft.

Carry on.
You mean the guy that is the 2nd favorite to win the Heisman next season will never be a good pick for us?

Interesting, explain.

Even though I don’t want us drafting a QB this season. Not to mention you have no idea what you’re even talking about bc Nuss isn’t coming out

There is also a certain section of the fanbase that feels the Saints are obligated to draft Ole Miss players, Alabama players, and really any SEC player. People know the players they see and if they are good they want the Saints to draft them. And while sometimes it goes too far, it would be hard to argue with those who wanted the Saints to draft Burrow or Daniels. Or Jefferson, Nabors, Thomas, Jr., etc.
Or Chevis Jackson, Glenn Dorsey, Ali Highsmith or any of the other many LSU flameouts.

Because the pro team isn’t obligated to draft LSU players just because?
If they fit a need within the Saints? Yeah. Go for it!
But to draft LSU just because LSU is nearby? No.
It’s not about obligation. It’s about going get some guys who will produce for your team. No team should have more intel on LSU players than us. Funny how we would sell the farm for a raw prospect from a small school, yet we won’t make a small move to get a guy like Jetts. It makes zero sense. What more could that guy have done at the college level to show that he was going to be a playmaker?

Because we desperately need a backup qb. I would prefer a young backup and give him a season or two to develop.
That's literally exactly what we have already. Most of the time, the people who talk about wanting to let a young player develop don't have any idea what that process looks like or have nearly enough patience to actually let that player develop.

20+ teams passed on him and the Eagles drafted Jalen Reagor one spot before him. Sometimes everyone gets it wrong. Hats off to the Vikings though. The pick that they used on Jefferson was the one they got for Steff Diggs.

Nuss, at this point in his college career, is a complete unknown.....he has a strong arm, he is a streaky gunslinger that turns it over a bit too much.....

2025 season is huge for him, if he can clean some stuff up decision making wise and improve in some areas he could be a 1st rounder, if not or just marginal improvement then he's likely a 2nd day pick....

Below is utterly and totally delusional....

Huh? There’s “draft experts” predicting him to be the number one pick in 2026.

Not saying I agree, but give me a break, he’ll definitely be a top 10-15 pick.

Sorry man, just facts. He’ll be a top 10-15 pick. Sorry you don’t understand the position. Sorry to word it like that, but to call what I posted as delusional when the tools he possess will absolutely warrant a first round pick (whether deserved or not) in that QB class is asinine to say the least.

And yes, he’s projected to be a first round pick in 2026 and there are people who project him to be the first QB taken. Although again, I don’t believe that

No need to apologize, I'm laughing at how delusional you continue to be....

If he improves greatly he could be a 1st round pick, there are no guarantees though.....Don't think he'll ever be anywhere close to as good as the last 2 LSU QB's drafted in the 1st....

I agree with that, I don’t think he will be either.

However, save the post smart guy. Revisit it this time next season. You won’t, you won’t post how you’re wrong and just like to attack based off your opinion.

Again, it’s not me being delusional. It’s actually facts lol.

People are projecting him to be a first rounder - ✅ fact

There are people predicting him to be the first QB taken - ✅ fact

Did I say I agree with either of those?

Only thing that was my opinion was he’ll be a top 10-15 pick bc of how scouts fall in love with the tools that he possesses. Maybe I should not have used the word “definitely”.

But he’s 2nd currently in the Heisman odds for next season, so, those people must be delusional too. Lol

Literally not one thing I said is delusional, but you’re right man. Your football IQ is so astounding that we should all just bow down 🤣🤣🤣

I've been wrong plenty....but my delusional comment was more directed at the taken with the 1st pick.....or even 1st QB drafted.....

But give you a break because he is definitely going to be 10-15 pick in the draft? I disagree, now that you have clarified that it's just your opinion, that's a bit more reasonable, still disagree but could see it happening if he makes huge improvements....

I'm an LSU fan, and LSU puts a lot of great players in the NFL but it seems that a large portion of the fanbase think LSU players are better then they really are.....Example, there was a guy years ago on another board who thought Trev Faulk was the best LB in the draft, my response is that he was a great college LB but was a tweener (not big enough or fast enough for the NFL).....He played in a few games over a 2 year period and then retired.....

So when I see definitive statements like you made I tend to respond curtly....it's all good and as an LSU fan I want him to be a top 10-15 pick for sure.....I think that would be his absolute ceiling....

Also the home to Jamarcus Russell and Matt Mauck.
Yes, LSU is a high producing school, but you can’t blindly draft just because they’re the state school.
When was Matt Mauck made out to be a can’t miss pro prospect? He was a 7th round pick.
