N/S Ben Johnson's upcoming interview schedule (61 Viewers)

And lets be honest. Who on our roster is as good as Brock Bowers? We have some good players, but that guy is a super star you can build an offense around and he was a rookie. We don't have that.
And to think if he was there when we picked we would have traded down with the Rams. I mean it's no wonder where we are currently at, we see talent and go in the opposite direction. Game changing TE that can help us convert 3rd downs and make contested catches, no thanks!

First round pro bowl safety falls into our laps in the 2nd round, hard pass. Let's draft a stiff DE who can't even get playing time during a meaningless game.

Didn't see this posted and didn't think it deserved a new thread, but this definitely throws some shade at Ben Johnson. I mean, who the heck wouldn't want Jayden Daniels? Most knew he was going to be really good. Especially LSU fans. But apparently in the interview last year with the Commanders, Ben Johnson told them he wanted to stick with Same Howell at QB.

Has it been confirmed? In his defense, both he and Howell are UNC alums. However, anyone who saw Howell play his rook year would understand that that's a dumb stance.

There's quite a bit of Monday Morning Quarterbacking happening with this story. Notice how this gets leaked after the Commanders win a playoff game and clearly struck gold with JD.

Remember 12 months ago, JD was a late riser up draft boards and while this fanbase with close proximity to LSU was largely enamored with him, the feelings among many was that JD at 2 would be a reach.

Howell wasn't trash. He has potential as a player with ups and downs and it's not shocking a guy like Johnson wanted to try to develop him and draft a different position of need than QB. But it's also not shocking that the front office and HC having such a different vision for the team at a critical juncture would derail a job, too.
