Bernard Pollard released {MERGED} (1 Viewer)

It was discussed throughout the season that this was really the last hurrah for the Ravens defense as it had existed. Now that Newsome is keeping to that direction, everyone is freaking out. Except he is a really smart General Manager, and always seems to have a plan. Ellerbe wasn’t a starter until Jameel McClain was injured, and now the sky is falling because he wasn’t resigned. Kruger wasn’t effective until this year, and Courtney Upshaw is waiting in the wings anyway. Torrey Smith is entering his third year, when wide receivers usually make the biggest career leap, and Jacoby Jones looks like he can assume the number two role. They have some talented younger players that they feel can be productive. And yet, even with the discussion of all this taking place dating back to last offseason, and the obvious plan in place by a top notch GM, folks want to blame Flacco’s contract and declare the Ravens losers already. And some of the same people doing so are those who are going around killing the Saints for keeping their old and terribly overpaid and overrated players on the roster and not playing the awesome late rounder’s and undrafted free agents who are so obviously better. It actually hurts my head sometimes.

Be real though. No one is worse than Garic.

True.

On another note,Glover Quinn is at the Lions headquarters. I doubt he leaves I would much rather him but his price tag will probably be high.

Bernard Pollard knocks everyone out, he is the biggest hitter in the NFL, love to sign this guy, can't believe he is out there.

Ravens getting younger. Look like they are rebuilding there defense. Thats what you get when you give one person 125 million dollar contract with 52 million garanteed.

Rather keep Harper over Pollard. But if Harp dont restructure he might be a gone pecan....

I guess the Patriots are hoping that man goes to NFC so he stops causing freak injuries to them....

or they sign him to a big contract and let him sit on the bench and never practice.

Pollard mutiny?

i dont recall hearing any of this during the season, but it doesnt sound like a like a guy who would fit in our locker room. then again, reeds name comes up also.

Bernard Pollard

He was released by the Ravens today. Seems like a good one year answer to shore up our DB corp.

Damn Baltimore, I can see why Ray Lewis retired... He saw this coming! Also probably figured there wouldnt be any money left for him either.

We still would owe Harper money. I wouldn't want to break team chemistry and leadership to maybe save 1-2million. Plus Harper can still be restructured.

Can't you go back and watch games of the defense last season to savor that chemistry?
