Best/Worst Fan Chants (1 Viewer)

Sung to the Christmas song "Winter Wonderland"
"There's only one Ricky Hatton,
One Ricky Hatton,
Walking along,
Singing a song,
Walking in a Hatton wonderland."

OH, I hate that one! It almost makes me want to step in the ring with him so he can beat the memory of it out of me.

Best: Who dat
Worst: Who dey

One of the minor league hockey teams a few years ago (I forgot if it was Lafayette or Baton Rouge) would taunt the goalie of the other team when he gave up a goal by chanting the goalie's name 3 times followed by "It's all your fault!".

I remember going to a Brass game and having that happen to their goalie when he gave one up.

At the BCS Championship Game, it was funny towards the end of the game for the Buckeye's faithful to start up their chant by yelling "O", only to have the LSU contingent immediately jump in with "and 9!".

Best? "Hoddy Toddy" Very unique, lot of fun to say, and only makes sense if you're drunk.

Hot boudin and cold couscous>hoddy toddy if you want a unique chant

In a somewhat related note, here is a link that I found pretty funny where this guy rips on what he thinks are the 5 lamest traditions in SEC football. Yes, LSU made the list, but it was still funny.

From ECW, regarding Big Sal Graziano (who weighed 600 lbs, apparently) (To the tune of "Let's go Hoyas" clap clap clapclapclap.)

"Where's my pizza?"

"Saley ate it."

"Where's my pizza?"

"Saley ate it."

Best chant ever.

One chant at Franklin High School (because we always lost) was "That's all right, that's okay, you'll all work for us someday."

At Penn games against real teams like Temple or Villanova, the chant when the other team's star (I recall Mark Macon for sure) was at the foul line was "Two - Hundred - Verbal! Two - Hundred - Verbal!"

Actually, worse than that was one I heard from a Carnegie-Mellon grad. At football games:

"Ambulate! Ambulate! Relinquish the prolate spheroid!"

This is one area where Americans are pretty bad. There's some funny ones, to be sure, but we just don't know how to come up with chants/cheers/songs. The Europeans and the Latin Americans have us sooooo outdone. Probably other parts of the world too, I just don't know them.

Rocky Top. My god I wish someone would write another Tennessee based song so they would stop screaming that line over and over and over again.

"Good Ol Rocky Top! Rocky Top Tennessee!!"
"Good Ol Rocky Top! Rocky Top Tennessee!!"
"Good Ol Rocky Top! Rocky Top Tennessee!!"
"Good Ol Rocky Top! Rocky Top Tennessee!!"
"Good Ol Rocky Top! Rocky Top Tennessee!!"
"Good Ol Rocky Top! Rocky Top Tennessee!!"

Penn-Princeton, back and forth:

Penn (winning the Ivy again over second-place Princeton): "NIT! NIT! NIT!"

Princeton back: "SAT! SAT! SAT!"

Princeton again: "Safety school! Safety school!"

Disclaimer: I never could have gotten into either of them.

My all-time favorite putaway,at a high school basketball playoff game by the winning team in the final seconds:

Crowd [pointing up 45 degrees and to the right]: Git yo HAT
[pointing straight to the right]: yo COAT
[pointing to left at the gym door]: an' LEAVE

That's just the fight song.

The Alma Mater is "I Just Bought My First Pair of Shoes," but you don't hear it at games much.
