Blood type? (1 Viewer)

I never knew either. Then joined the Corps 0-neg. Then got drunk and had a dog tag tattoo.

now I think i just bleed 80 proof.

I am O negative (the universal donor). I give enough blood that I got the coveted Gold card from UBS. Actually, that isn't that big a deal. You only have to give 3-4 times a year. In fact, I am back eligible to give again so I may go see them Saturday.

Well played sir, well played...

I am kinda surprised you were the only one who got that.

I'm A+. I used to give blood all the time until I spent some time in the Mother Country(England). Now they won't take mine. There are a lot of joking around responses to this thread- but seriously, give if you can. It doesn't hurt, and you may give one person that second chance. You might need it one day.

O Negative. I used t donate all the time, but I have a Chronic low Platelet count(Thrombocytopenia) and now they wont take it.

I found out my type back in middle school.

B - for me. I actually work in a hospital transfusion service. As mentioned, if you need blood they will test you before you get the transfusion. Even if you knew your type, we would still do all the testing. Even if we have tested you before, we will repeat all the testing every time.

Sometimes older men tell us their type based on their dog tags, and it's wrong. Happens a couple of times a year or so. A few of them get really ticked off with us over it, like its our fault they're not the type they thought they were. :idunno:

A neg. use to give blood often when I lived in Monroe until a idiot put the needle in wrong and wouldn't take it out until I almost passes out. So be careful who takes your blood.
