Brandon Staley and Christian Parker interviewed for Defensive Coordinator, Doug Nussmeier interviewed for OC; all on Feb 16 (21 Viewers)

Eagles fans are freaking out at the possibility of losing Parker. I don’t know much about him but that’s a good sign for sure
A good write up by @ELLIASJWILLIAMS here:

Christian was with us and he got promoted,” Payton said at the NFL combine on Feb. 27. “[The Eagles are] getting a bright young coach. Obviously, Vic knows him because he’s work with him before. Christian’s really sharp. I’d say his degree, if you will, in defensive football is in that scheme.

“He was a pleasure to work with. I’m excited that he has that opportunity. Vic and I talked at length about Christian. He was one of the coaches that we kept from last year’s staff.”

Broncos general manager George Paton was also full of praise when asked about Parker at the combine.

“Christian is outstanding,” Paton said. “He’s young, poised beyond his years. Very good teacher. I don’t know how old he is but he came in here to coach Justin Simmons, Pat Surtain and Kareem Jackson. I would just say he’s a really good teacher.

“In regard to me, he’s a very good evaluator and when we got involved in the draft process, free agent process, he was outstanding as an evaluator. I feel like [the Eagles] really got a star in Christian Parker.”

Not really fond of Staley, the only thing he got going for him is that he coached Aaron Donald. I would love Nussmeier though.
Nussmeier would absolutely raise my antennas regarding his son who’s in BR going into his senior season. All interesting coaching options! Excited to see where it ends.

I THINK I prefer Christian Parker at this point. I just don't get a good enough feeling for Staley after reading an article about his time with the Chargers and the coverage issues. IDK

This is who I'm hopeful for.

Interesting, more than one minority coach interview for defensive coordinator. Almost makes all of the "Rooney Rule" comments seem like quick judgements and ignorant. Turns our coach Kellen Moore might just be looking for the best coaches, not just a skin tone. Who would have thought?

That said, I love that we're interviewing a bunch of guys for coordinator positions. So long as they are ready to hit the ground running and be at the combine in 11 days, they should take the time they need to build the right staff.
