Interesting, more than one minority coach interview for defensive coordinator. Almost makes all of the "Rooney Rule" comments seem like quick judgements and ignorant. Turns our coach Kellen Moore might just be looking for the best coaches, not just a skin tone. Who would have thought?

That said, I love that we're interviewing a bunch of guys for coordinator positions. So long as they are ready to hit the ground running and be at the combine in 11 days, they should take the time they need to build the right staff.

Imagine Staley as Linebackers Coach / Assistant HC and Parker as DC. That's a good mixture of young talent and experience on the defensive side of the ball.

I’ve heard the idea tossed around, but I’m not sure Staley would make a lateral move to come to the Saints. If I’m not mistaken he’s assistant head coach for 49ers? Plus, I don’t think he’d want to be under a young first time DC as he probably wants to be the top dog if he leaves from being under Salah.

Everyone knows Nuss will be the OC. Are the guys they will interview to satisfy the rooney rule qualified for the position? Absolutely, still doesn’t make their interview anything more than a RR qualifier though.

In this case I could absolutely see them bringing on Parker as DC and Staley for LB’er/AHC/PGC to be under Parker and help Parker and Kellen

Nuss and Staley are probably locks. Think I prefer Parker though for DC.

As soon as the Jets fired Salah that job was his, he was DC there before being hired in NY.

I do think it's possible, but it also might be odd for Parker to be the DC with Staley here as Assistant HC/LB Coach looking over his shoulder.

Possibly, but Shanahan seems kind of petty and we just took his passing game coordinator last year.
