Brees helping bring a sliders chain to NOLA... (1 Viewer)

Haven't been to the one in BR. Seems like a great location as it's walking distance from all the Tigerland bars.

IDK if it's related, but since it opened the McD's which was basically next door has shutdown.

Thereā€™s a location away from campus as well that does ok with lunch crowd.

Im not a big fan of them. The burgers and fries are placed in styrofoam containers that basically act like sweat boxes. So by the time you get then home, the burger buns are damp and the fries are soggy. The same issue as Canes chicken fingers and fries.

So, I guess their slogan should be 'You're killing me Smalls'? I'll see myself out...

Agreed on the styrofoam box comment, for Canes. If I do not eat Canes at their restaurant, I do not buy it through the drive thru. Take a lesson from Chik-fil-A. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø So if Sliders uses the same styrofoam type of box, that will be disgusting, soggy food by the time it hits the table at home. YUK!

Staying out of Orleans, good call Drew.
Too many burger joints in Orleans and Jefferson parishes. But good luck. I m good with the sliders at Walkonā€™s, Desiā€™s and Cheesecake Factory. All very worthy sliders, though Desiā€™s is my favorite.

You have to use vented containers and train your staff to open all the vents. Some chains do it better than others. Or you could just use paper containers. Their isn't really an elegant solution w/ styrofoam.

I kind of get tired of chicken fingers at Caines, and wish they had 1 or 2 more menu options. But, you know what I never get tired of, is the staff smile and look genuinely happy to work there. Their clean bathrooms. That they have yet to get my order wrong, or forget anything in my order. The food is always good. I never get tired of that. They are just better at staffing than any restaurant chain in the city.

Baton Rouge is a great place to see how middle America wants a slider restaurant chain. But,New Orleans is a tough market w/ many burger options.

The food looks good, nice bun to meat ratio. The prices are competitive.

The boxes seem very similar to Canes -
at least at the one I went to in town.

I have a Canes by the house, so if I pick it up for myself, my wife and my son, Iā€™ll open the boxes to vent them. Smalls is a little too far from my house to vent the boxes without them getting cold. So it either - cold or sweaty and soggy. šŸ˜‘

Drew Brees and bland food never seems to change.
I feel he's trying to make it too complicated if you go the food route. Get a well a couple of well-known franchises and be done with it. But hey, I don't have millions to invest.
