Brees threw a 51 yard pass in the air perfectly (1 Viewer)

He did. It was beautiful. But what was that miss when Ginn was open by 5 yards?

I think Drew thought there was a deep safety over the top, so he throw to the backside shoulder, but there was no deep safety, so Ginn pressed on and did not make an adjustment?? Just my guess

Back in the day I’d agree, but c’mon guys for the last few years most of those deep throws that were money so long, every time....are short now. Today one of em was perfect and dropped. But we’ve seen Ginn slow down for most of Drew’s long throws.
Go watch games from 10' til now, it happens....hes not on some sudden decline like we saw with manning. People just want a headline. Saints are 9-2, and drew is averaging what, 300 yards a game. I'm glad the internet was barely around when the saints did actually suck

I’m not at all disagreeing with you. It’s a normal slow decline and Drew is still elite and a first ballot HOF’er. Speaking truth (about something that happens to all of us) is no slight on Drew. I so wish people here would get that. He’s my second favorite Saint ever.

Loss all credibility, unless your dad played for the saints

Alas if my Cred is gone, so be it.
Sam Mills is my favorite. Doesn’t mean that I don’t think Drew is the best and most pivotal Saint ever. And more importantly a wonderful man. Who Dat. And the Dad part was funny.

I know I’m a broken record, but the times Drew’s arm has looked “weak” have been when he gets pressured or gets off schedule and can’t step into the throw. its been that way for 14 years now.

Is it a little weaker than it was in 2009? Sure. A little. But nothing that hampers the offense in any way. Like 90% of QBs, he won’t get a ton of zip unless he gets time and can step into the throw.

I didn't think he had it in him. Glad to see him try the deep throws

I agree it does at least need to be attempted a couple of times. The D will play our short game well in the playoffs.

Remember last year, Philly playoffs...first play Ginn for the TD but Drew under threw it.

They showed a stat that we are last in the league in attempts downfield. And yes I know Drew missed time.

Absolutely. The threat needs to be there to open up the intermediate routes, screens and running game.

Drew was taking more shots today than I've seen in 3+ years. It didn't result in a lot of big plays, but it helps the offense. And they will connect if they keep trying

I think we figured out why Drew doesn't throw deep.....BECAUSE HIS RECIEVERS CAN'T CATCH WORTH A DAMN!
I mean you do kind of have a point, why exert all of that effort to uncork a 40-50 yard pass when it's most likely going to be dropped.

When you can just throw to Michael Thomas for 10-15 yards and have it be a completion 99% of the time.
