Opinion Brian Flores Is the only Defensive HC that should be considered by the Saints. The Vikings are not going to keep him past this yr. (1 Viewer)

I am really leaning on an Offensive side of the ball for HC, but this guy has to be the best defensive mind in the NFL. What he is doing at the Vikings is sublime. He is killing it. I think he will be a HC for some team in 2025. Could it be us?

I would be happy with Flores. I like Rizz but I just don’t know enough. After the first two games this season this board was full of people thinking Allen had arrived and we would lose Kubiak after this season. Give it some time.

I advocated for him before DA but don't see them going in that direction. I wouldn't be surprised if they went the lazy road again and kept the interim coach. It's the path of least resistance for a GM who doesn't want significant change. I want a total reorganization that includes Mickey moving to another position and bringing in a new GM who chooses his own coach.
It probably will not happen, but that's my ideal.

Hire a former defensive minded coach that was an absolute failure with his first tenure as head coach? What could go wrong? We've never done that before....
Flores didn’t knock it out of the park. But he wasn’t an “absolute” failure. He was 24-25 in three seasons, including a 9 win and 10 win seasons. He didn’t have success in getting along with Tua as a hard nosed coach which seems to have led to his firing. It feels like he was really close to being a playoff coach if he and his QB could’ve co-existed better. But his tough personality wasn’t a fit for his QB. I think if Flores pairs himself with a good OC (and maybe Flores’ choice at QB), he could have success as a HC again like Todd Bowles.

Rahim morris would have been better.

Went 5-11 in his 1st season after taking over a team that was 2-4 in it's last 6 games. Then went 10-6 in 2nd yr and 9-8 in his 3rd . NOT an absolute failure. SMH. C'mon man be realistic

I'd be fine with Flores if he kept Kubiak as OC and the O staff. Our OL is built to run the ball and run a wide zone scheme. It would be a bad move to bring in a new O staff and have the team and DC learn a whole new system

Flores comes off as way too stiff and serious for this team. Similar personality to Allen if less deer-in-headlights-y.

This team runs on outward expression of passion and easy goingness mixed with in your face accountability.
Rizzi seems to be a great motivator, lets his coordinators do thier jobs. He also seems to have a vision.

If he ends up.with a winning record in the games he has managed, he should hands down be the next HC. He has gotten 2 wins in two games. A few weeks ago I didn't think the Saints were going to win that for the rest of the season.

Agreed. We just had a coach very similar to Flores and that didn't work out. Flores should not be an option, that personality/coaching style won't work on this team. Rizzi is the HC.

Ridiculous, Flores is not like DA. Seems like you just want a firey HC. I guess you'd pass on Andy Reid because he's not firey or Mike Tomlin
