N/S Brian Mitchell HOF? (2 Viewers)

He played Qb for like 3 drives in one game where both QBs got hurt. I think they just ran the ball mostly. I remember watching the game.
Actually i think it was one of those your game is over.. here are the final few minutes of the other games before the 3pm kick offs.

Memory foggy but didn’t he get snaps as the emergency QB for a game?

I think he did, but what I remember is when most of the Washington RB's were hurt and he played RB.....and played it really, really well, I remember him having at least a few 100 yard games and he was a very good receiver out of the backfield, they used to use him as a part time 3rd down back as well.....

You're thinking of the infamous "Body Bag" game in 1990 vs. Buddy Ryan's Eagles where both the Redskins starting QB and back-ups were knocked out of the game.

All I know is that it took Jerry Rice 20 years to surpass what Brian Mitchell did in 14 years in the NFL.

Brian Mitchell all purpose yards: 23,484
Jerry Rice all purpose yards: 23611. When he surpassed Brian Mitchell, basically the last game of his career, the NFL announcers couldn't stop gushing over Jerry about his all purpose yards. They mentioned Brian Mitchell that night and Jerry's accomplishment, but did not once say that Brian did that in 6 years less.

Isn't that name already taken?
Not really, there is no school in Louisiana that is strictly Louisiana. It's a long, complicated mess, the school names have been a sore point with BR for many years. Not really worth getting into here because it's been discussed before, but for all intents and purposes, the formal name is the University of Louisiana. People add on the Lafayette because there is the University of Louisiana Monroe, so they want to add the city to distinguish between the 2 schools.

Of course the web address is Louisiana.edu.

My sister went there in the 70's, she knew Rafael Septien.....Said he was a really nice guy......she was shocked when he was accused of molesting a 10 year old girl......not sure if he was ever charged though....

Same. Not so much anymore, but for a long time we kept using USL. I graduated in 95 so it was already Louisiana by then.
That's probably when LSU alumni stepped in to force every other school to be a "University of Louisiana" Because they didn't change from USL until 2000.
