Anyone want to guess about which rule(s) a flag of that size violates?Banners/Signs/Flags are generally allowed if they meet the following conditions:Venue Management reserves the right to remove Banners/Signs/Flags at any time. Venue/Signs/Flags of a commercial nature are not permitted without specific permission from Venue Management. Please note these guidelines may change at any time due to event specifics, Show Management requests, etc.
- They are in good taste
- They are not deemed offensive
- They do not include profanity
- They do not obstruct the view of any guests or any existing Superdome signage
- They do not present a safety hazard
I’d be willing to bet it was someone in security who thought it was the confederate flag. Which is just as ignorant. I’d be willing to buy one and show it in my section for the next home game, hopefully the Brit fans would see it on TV.Some idiot in security probably thought it had something to do with any of several countries at war right now. Probably couldn’t pick Ukraine or Israel on a map.
That's what it comes down to. Were they asked to put it away and they disregarded the warning or did security just take it without warning. Either way, no need to damage the flag at all. From the Superdome’s website…A-Z Guide | Caesars Superdome

Was a **** move for security to deface it, however I’d wager they were approached multiple times about putting it away and didn’t listen before it was confiscated.
It’s wonderful they decided to make a game, but spending a lot of money on flights, hotel rooms, and game tickets traveling as an international fan doesn’t grant anyone additional liberties to ruin neighboring fans gameday experiences as well. I know I wouldn’t want to be sitting (or even standing) behind that flag when it’s being held up.
They'll be back.I would be livid. This is so wrong on so many levels. The flag is awesome when you see it. To have security take it and slash it down the middle warrants a firing. This Brit spent thousands to fly over to show support for the Saints the past two home games. This doesn't look good for the Superdome and the way it's run.
Great looking flag!

That's some 'banner-happy' people over there.
Pyrotechnics at its worst!
