That sucks. He's a perfect special teams player. Fast and physical. Just limited to a WLB role on defense, unfortunately. Probably why we didn't carry him on the 53.
Isaiah Stalbird projects as a similar type of player, once he develops, as is Nephi Sewell whenever he gets healthy. So it isn't the end of the world.
Wouldn't be surprised to see us bring Andrew Dowell back to the practice squad now, though.
Was still good in his late 20s, but at this point he’s had several season injury comebacks, and he’d make us the oldest denenses in the NFLPlease sign Kwon Alexander
That rule was put in place during the Covid years and continued through 2023. It ceased to exist beginning in 2024. The Saints (and other teams as well) could have exercised that rule last year when they got poached, but the Saints didn't elect to do so.I wonder if we still do not protect 2 PS players (if that is still the rule). We seemed to not want to take advantage of that rule. Maybe it is a goodwill gesture to the players.
I doubt one player would make us THE oldest. But honestly that doesn’t matter, we are just needing someone just in case, we wouldn’t be signing them to the 53 man roster. Was still good in his late 20s, but at this point he’s had several season injury comebacks, and he’d make us the oldest denenses in the NFL
This move just keeps us all one step closer to the Gay Orji.
Keep 'em whole year or cut 'em.I'm a bit hazy of the details of a player getting claimed, I know he has to go the acquiring teams' active roster, but does that mean he can never be put on their PS again, or is just the normal process of getting cut and clearing waivers again?

Sure...they can have Rattler. For two firsts and Myles.
That's it?He has to be on the active roster for 3 weeks and then it's back to normal
