Butler agrees to terms with Saints (merged) (1 Viewer)

I am not going to lie this is not a big name acqusition nbut i feel VERY relieved about the pass rush now that he is here.

I wonder how this affects us signing Nnamdi.

Will we lean more towards Porter given our limited space under the salary cap?

Finally, a signing we've been discussing and waiting to hear about for what seems to be an eternity.

This makes me wanna:

Butler was an effective sub, with 11.0 sacks in four seasons, but he was stuck behind DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer in Dallas. The Saints can offer him more play-time, as they’re desperately looking for pass-rush help as they transition to a 3-4.

Having Butler around should help Ryan install his system as well.

He'll be what Chamberlain was for Spags ... only better. I hope.

I still think Nnamdi is worth the signing.

I'm higher on him than I am on porter. Tracy..even though thats my classmate PAHS 04.........has an injury history.

His availability is no better than Charles Brown@this point.

Id prefer Nnamdi...also Nnamdi adds size. Signing TP would give us a familiar face but it would strictly be to play the nickel. Id rather Draft Mathieu for that.

I hate how Schefter tweets some of these things.

Nice pickup in New Orleans: Saints plan to sign Cowboys LB Victor Butler

I bolded plan.

Yeah, been in the "plans" for a while now. Does that mean we did it???

Toss in a TP signing and I will be glad. Sure up LT in the draft, and I'd say it was a successful offseason.
