First the hockey game, now this

For the next symbolism laden encounter:

Maple Syrup vs Ketchup
========================

For the second time in weeks, a Canadian icon has emerged as the unlikely victor in an existential battle on the ice.

Mervyn Sequeira, an Ontario photographer, was out with his family on a recent morning when they spotted a bald eagle descending towards a frozen lake.

Sensing a looming attack on unsuspecting prey, Sequeira scanned the landscape and saw a Canadagoose, alone and vulnerable.

For the next 20 minutes, lens trained on the battle, Sequeira watched what he expected would be a lopsided fight with a grim coda.

Through bursts of his shutter, however, he captured a defiant goose fending off death.

“I’ve seen bald eagles take a lot of things, from ducks to muskrats. But this is the first time I’ve seen a bald eagle go in for something as big as a goose,” he said.

Despite multiple attacks by the eagle, the goose remained unbowed. The raptor, defeated, flew off……..

Maple syrup wins hands down. Ketchup is one of the most vile “edible” substance known to mankind.

I have a feeling that top photo is headed meme-ward big time.
Some people have way too much time on their hands if they want to use a symbolic fight/stare-down between Canadian geese and a Bald Eagle as symbolically representing US vs. Canada. Most Americans and Canadians don't dislike each other and frankly, this whole feud or whimsical discussions of annexing Canada over the past 6-7 weeks feels like a cheap con/distraction orchestrated by some higher-ranking members of a particular administration because it hasn't or won't be able to achieve what they promised.

This stuff mainly coming from Canadians from what I've seen. Feelings definitely were hurt in this one.

The US us the first country get its panties in a bunch over any perceived slight. We have an administration that wants to jail people for saying mean things about it.

Except in this case....it's been the Canadians yelling "Marsha Marsha Marsha!!!" 😂 It's all silly. They'll get over it....or they won't.

Perhaps it has something to do with someone every other day repeating they're planning to annex Canada and the peculiar behavior we're experiencing. I can imagine the reaction if China would say they are going to make the U.S. their 23rd province one way or another.
