Captain America- Brave New World- trailer (1 Viewer)

I honestly don't expect much from either this or Thunderbolts. They were the last two projects in development before Marvel started to course correct. The reshoots and rewrites for this showed they at least cared enough to try and salvage it, but history shows its often hard to turn around a movie already being filmed.

I've also spoiled myself on it from test screenings leaks and it sounds pretty meh. Hopefully I'm wrong, though.

Very interested in everything after these two, though.
I think thunderbolts has a chance - but it's name/title sucks enough to keep plenty away

I actually have hope for Thunderbolts. I think the Captain America movie will be similar to some of the previous MCU movies. Not Avengers level great, but not bad either. I'll be fine if it's an average MCU movie.

Seems it’s getting a lot of negative on Twitter.

Yes has nothing to do with the movie
It’s also a stunningly myopic idea.
Consistently some of the highest reportings of racial harassment comes from well off African Americans in predominantly affluent neighborhoods and jobs

Which would seem obvious if you thought about it first 1/2 a second

Review embargo ended this morning.

Reviews are bad, as expected. Even regular fan reception from international markets so far looks really bad.

I'm willing to give them some grace on this one because it was a disaster production and from a time before Feige admitted there were lots of problems with the MCU that needsd fixing, but Marvel Studios really needs Fantastic Four to knock it out of the park or face cultural irrelevancy

eventually i'll be interested to hear the punditry analyze why marvel leaned so heavily into this promo - the tie-ins with top golf?? flooding the zone with ads??

I think FF will be fine, but how does Thunderbolts* avoid the mud splatter?

In a world of oversaturation.... thunderbolts are a rather niche group of marvel fans. It will bomb unless it's the funniest movie to ever exist. Im still checked out until xmen show up. FF might get my interest after xmen show up.

They should have "retired" things with Endgame and then waited a bit and rebooted. Instead they've decided to run it into the ground.

And just an FYI to the executives, there's a reason that some characters are strong enough to headline their own titles, and others are supporting characters. Movies centered around supporting C and D list characters will not have the same draw as the A list characters.

I've said this for a while now, but Guardians of the Galaxy is ehat convinced them they could take any deep cut or niche character or group of characters and turn them into a major franchise. They got high on their own success and started spamming projects with C and D listers, legacy characters, etc. after Endgame, instead of taking a very careful and measured approach about how to go forward. It has been a masterclass in how not to plan ahead.

I feel like if Fantastic Four is good and they don't screw up Doomsday and Secret Wars, they can still recover. That said, they had built up some goodwill back up by cutting back on projects and on the success of Dradpool and Wolverine, but BNW looking like another dud and Thunderbolts being a question mark is not what they needed. They really would have benefitted from having a big hit.

If all else fails, they still have X-Men in the pipeline to reboot around in a couple of years. We will be getting casting announcements on that in the next few months supposedly. But they need some big wins before that.

Agreed. They hit a homerun with an unknown quantity and now think they can do that with any character. However, let's give them some credit, they did check themselves a while back. I mean, I love Squirrel Girl but that wasn't going to go anywhere....

This movie will be the first one I miss in the theatres. I am an admitted Marvel fanboy, but this movie doesn't excite me and financial times are rough right now so I'm choosing Thunderbolts over Falcon America. Which internally surprises me, as Falcon was one of my favorite comic book characters back when I was collecting. (Way before the movies).

Completely agree. GotG came out at just the right time for it to succeed, and surely made them think they could slap Marvel on anything and make a mint.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but it would have been much better if they let things cool for a few years and then rebooted everything starting with the new Fantastic Four.

Long as you don't mind waiting. X-Men is supposed to be the last of the FOX Marvel world coming into the MCU.
