Don’t see too many couples staying together for 60 yrs these days.. guessing those numbers, and the marriage rate in general- will plummet once their generation is gone .

Even more amazing is how well their relationship worked for them despite living two completely different lifestyles. Dolly often told stories about how he went out of his way to avoid the limelight that was a necessary part of her life. He was happy to stay in the background while allowing Dolly to fulfill her celebrity obligations. It's hard to imagine that many celebrity couples could have dealt as well with such vast differences. But they seemed to handle it well.
