I think Pete didn’t fully trust the team he had on the field starting with the QB. I think he will open the O up more next year with a healthy O line and a better QB who can make multiple reads and more importantly read a defense

So back to my question. Did DA tell PC to call plays like that, or is it because he Dalton is very limited?
I’m sure DA had some level of control over the game plan.

But I don’t think the QB dictated to run Alvin into a wall over and over. Or not to involved Alvin in the passing game more. Or to completely neglect the screen game. Or…

And that whole "multiple reads" and reading defense notion has been debunked. If you are elite on third down and in the red zone, that notion is trash. If you can't do anything with someone who has thrown for over 5k yards and 30+ TDs or the backup, who had moderate success at previous locations, then you shouldn't be calling plays for anyone and that is a sign of horrible coaching. You build your offense around personnel. But KDWYD.

Wow, when the bar is set so low that you’re willing to trash the organization because it’s the easy thing to do. Sunday just freed up. Oh, please let the saints get picked for hard knocks, that would be something to actually be able to watch.
