Carolina's "vaunted" defense (1 Viewer)

They will be exposed Monday and i can't wait. They will try to pressure Brady but he will dink and dunk it for 5-8 yards a pop and it will frustrate them. That will ease that pass rush up and give him time and we know what happens after that. Draws to Steven Ridley since the pass rush is off, slants across the middle to Dobson and Thompson. New England has a superior coaching advantage and as we all know coaching matters.

Well, their offense isn't so bad either. If we do not turn the ball over, and do not miss field goals, we win.

As some have said, the front 7 is legit. Maybe the best in the NFL, at least the best 4-3 in the NFL. The secondary on the other hand is not that good. If we can protect Drew, we'll be fine but if we can't it will be a long day, their pass rush is better than the Jets.

San Francisco has the best O-Line in the league and that front four manhandled them. You got to give it up to the front seven they have. I think we beat them in the dome, but lose at their place two weeks later.

Carolina always plays us tough, so I don't expect an offensive shootout when we play them, especially in their place. However, right now I'm just thinking about beating SF.

Their defense isn't what I'd be concerned with ..DeAngelo always seems to have really good game against us and cross eyes can run too. Steve Smith always has a big play or two as well.

In PPG, they're sitting number 2, half a point behind the Chiefs - surrendering less than 13 points per.

It's a very good defense. I think we can stress any defense with our weapons if we're playing well. But we do get out of sync sometimes - particularly if the OLine is struggling.

I feel good about beating them in the Dome but you can circle that game in Charlotte as a very tough road challenge.

Agreed. And the way to beat the Saints is to beat-up Brees physically which rattles him mentally. Carolina's front 7 is fully capable of harassing Brees.

I agree it is important for the line to play well and esp key to keep teams honest, but the way to expose CAR is to attack them through the air. That is their weakness and esp the middle of the field which is our specialty. We may have to chip at their ends, who rush the pass very well, but I expect Drew to be able to pick them apart.

Think about that. If you don't run the ball against them their ends can pin their ears back and it makes a huge difference with the pass rush. Also, when we are chipping ends with Graham it doesn't allow him to stretch the field which is what he does best.

Besides, Carolina's pass defense is ranked better than their run defense. They've shown themselves as more than capable all season to take away one dimension offenses.

Also, everyone is raving about the play of Cam Newton. His passing stats aren't really any different than last season and his rushing stats are way down. Carolina, San Fransisco and Seattle are all the same team to me. If we play good defense and don't turn the ball over we win easily. Those teams are struggling to score points but they are simply allowing their opponent to score less.

the 49ers and panthers are very similar on both sides of the ball so we will have a good gauge of how we'll fair after the 49ers game

having said that, the panthers defense is 2nd in points allowed...but our defense is 5th in points allowed

our defense is nearly as good and our offense is drastically better
