Carolina's "vaunted" defense (1 Viewer)

I'm not so sure.....to beat the Pats, they need to score points! You & me both know Brady will throw for at least or 2 TDs, if the weather permits it and probably kick a couple FGs.....are you sure Cam can do the same?

The Panthers need to score around 20-23 points to win. I'm not so sure they have the QB to do that.

Brady tends to struggle against teams that have a good defensive line(example: week 5 against the Bengals). If the Panthers defensive line plays the way they did against SF,they wont need to score around 20-23 points.

They have the #2 run defense in the NFL and I'd say SF has a pretty good oline with RBs and they didn't do much. For us, luckily we have a slightly better QB than CK in SF.

(and yes, that was sarcasm before people flame me for the "slightly" term)

Lol that isn't a problem for Carolina. You're selling Cam short. Carolina's offense was dynamic last two years. This year they changed philosophy, more of a ball control/efficient offense now. Carolina leads the league in time of possession.

Ok so help me out guys, the last four meetings we've averaged about 35 ppg.

I know they've added Star Lotuleilei up front, but who else has been added since last year?

We didn't have a running game last year either, and Drew isn't playing as inconsistently as he did last year.

I respect those guys & we always battle with them, but I can't see them holding us to their avg, not if we play anywhere close to the way we did last week.

How good is Carolina's Defense? Well let's take a look.

They haven't allowed an opposing Offense a First Half Touchdown all season.

Let's think about that for a minute, to not give up a TD in the first half through 10 weeks... Imagine what our record would be if we did not give up any First half TDs?

Oh and also
12.8 Points per game - 2nd.
282 Total yards per game - 2nd.
82 Rushing yards per game - 2nd.
3.8 Yards per Rush attempt - 9th.

Yeah they are really good.

Our record couldn't be much better than 7-2 no matter what we did.

they get a lot if quick pressure on QBs and many sacks making their UDFA CBs look great
