Will Fuller is the only decent WR on the market left. They need to trade for a WR at this point (B. Cooks/D. Parker)

It's why we always say "trust in Loomis." Too bad we didn't land him, but good we're not joining the overvaluing train these days when it comes to these guys. Regardless of what happens in FA, we need a WR in the first two rounds.

Super happy this unfolded the way it did. 10m anually for a receiver who has averaged 500 yards and 3 tds is silly. Not to mention he just doesn't pass the eye-test. Bad drops and plays soft.

Loomis has never been one to sit on his hands. However, he did say early into FA that we would be unlikely to go after higher dollar players and would be signing more bargain variety players, like Kentavius Street. Our number one need is WR, so it made some sense to go after MVS, but I'm not surprised Loomis refused to get into a bidding war for him. I expect us to sign a cheaper FA WR and to draft one or two WRs somewhere in the first three rounds.

Is it better to sit on your hands and sign no star players or to underbid on every single star player and still sign no star players?

Not overpaying versus not having the money to be competitive in free agency…tomato tomato

We have 22.6 million in cap space right now if we wanted to pay "slightly faster Trequan Smith" $10 million dollars a year we could have. I'm glade we didn't.

I think that MVS is overrated. But that $22.6 isn’t our 2022 money. That’s borrow money from 2023. So you can use every bit of it on players, but you are doing so at the expense of our 2023 budget. I’m sure our budget constraints are playing a role on missing out on FAs. Armstead for example…that is someone you’d like to keep at that price, but apparently he was over budget.

That money is already on future cap years. We still have something like the 6th most cap space in the league. Cap room has nothing to do with the lack of signings so far. It's more of not throwing around stupid money like 10m per year for a soft one dimensional wide receiver. We have plenty of money, and even if we had the most cap space in the league we still wouldn't have matched that offer. It's really bad deal.
