Chris Ivory catch? (1 Viewer)

Well they could use him the next time they run a screen pass. He couldn't do any worse then Bush,P.Thomas,Betts,Jones,Moore or D.Thomas have done this year on the screen pass.

More Saints drives have been killed this year cause of the screen pass, and don't even get me started about how the screen pass has killed us in the redzone.

They probably don't have confidence in him in terms of pass blocking and catching out of the backfield yet. Which limits what we can do with him on the field to a run or a play action pass.

He did pull this off in the preseason.

I just love how Antonio Gates is gabbin' about whatever the whole time and squeaks in a deadpan "Wow" just when Ivory scores.

Tampa Bay tackling was TERRIBLE in some of those videos. Whatever happened to wrapping your arms around people. You cannot bring good backs down just by a shoulder hit.

It's hard to say whether he can catch or not, seeing as we haven't seen him do it. In training camp, I noticed his burst and athleticism, but I didn't notice his hands in a good or bad way. Suffice it to say at this point it's more likely that we don't want to bog him down mentally with the entire offensive game plan. I think it's not a bad idea to get him the ball on some dump-offs, he's shown flashes of being a special runner in space. But the passing game is usually the hardest thing for young backs to pick up, especially if they haven't done it before.
