News Chris Olave is cleared to practice and designated to return from IR (15 Viewers)

PH I’m not being overly sensitive bruh…. The dude can’t make a whole season without getting starch’d twice…. It’s not good. And while I hope he can recover and play…. I’d rather see him just admit he ain’t built for this and move on before he ends up permanently disabled on live TV. It don’t take a PHD to see the dude can’t take a hit. It’s pretty damn clear at this point.

Olave is his own man, but I would prefer to see him inactive the rest of the way. No need to risk anything in this lost season, and with a young, unseasoned passer nonetheless.

I’m sure it’s hard for him to stay away though.
Agree, I see no point in risking him further for a lost season.

Easy for us to say to another man who has been doing this for virtually every year of his entire life and has a potential Lottery Powerball annuity-sized contract on the line. 😂

I agree, he’s only been on a rookie deal. He’s not exactly set for life with that contract and who knows what other skills he’s developed at this point in his life. He’s young, so he’s got plenty of time to transition/develop other skills if he absolutely has to but this is literally his life’s mission up to this point. Plenty of people get hurt just as bad or worse on other jobs for far less pay. I don’t blame him one bit for going for it, especially if a specialist has cleared him.

Keep in mind that opening his practice window doesn't necessarily mean he will play. He could. But he could also get reps in with Rattler and Carr simply for the benefit of the future as well. There are other reasons to be activated beyond playing on Sundays.

His call whether to risk playing again or not, but definitely not worth risking long term health for a 5-9 team with a backup QB. Rest up man.

It's the "he should immediately retire, life is too precious" peeps (who in reality would 110% be happy to see him out on the field) who are getting called out, and they know who they are. You want him to play again too. Just be honest.
Nope, I care more about him scrambling his brains more than I care about him catching passes. It’s called being a normal human being. I understand that he won the lottery by being good enough to play in the NFL but what’s the point of the money if you’re too incapacitated to use it?

Olave is tough to value with his injury history. Devonta Smith is a similar player who got 3yr - 51M guaranteed extension but signed that contract year 3. I expect we let Olave play out his 4th year and then make a decision. I also think RB and WR values are shifting in opposite directions so waiting may payoff.

Man, I was wrong about Smith, I never doubted his talent, just his ability to stay on the field at like 170lbs.....tough guy and great WR.....
Most WRs in every draft are in the 6' 185lbs range and so many are sub 4.4 now. He's replaceable fairly easy.

I couldn't disagree more, very few guys that are as quick/sudden and run routes as well as Olave, there are reasons he was a top 15 pick.....
