N/S Christian McCaffery ruled out again (1 Viewer)

As much as I hate to say it this could be the beginning of the end for CMAC. The injuries he has are no joke especially for a running back.

In 8 seasons he's touched the ball almost 2,000 times not counting the plays that he was on the field that the ball didn't go to him. That's A LOT of football. The wear is starting to show.

I shoulda waited to post what I said after this. We saw him play a LOT of ball in our division alone and I just didn't think he'd last but maybe another season .... or at least be effective at ALL again. But, as I said, he got his second act. Hated seeing him play for Panties but never hated him and was happy for him he found a new home. This probably is it for being effective.

He had horrible hamstring issues as a Panther.

I wonder if the calf and achilles injuries are related due to compensation from gimpy hamstrings?

Or like others said previously, it could just be a workload and age thing.

Either way, he’s a dynamic back when healthy.

I always felt bad for him that he had to play for the Panthers and with Cam Newton. I felt like he did everything they asked of him and when he went to the 9ers I was happy for him. You could almost see the relief he felt getting away from the Panthers. At least I thought so.

Unfortunately, time and injuries will always come to roost and he's probably on his way out as a dynamic RB anymore. I always liked him as a player.

Ive heard that they are saving him for later in the season and playoffs. He isn't needed in the regular season. Shannahan can just pretty plug and play any RB with his scheme and talent he has on offense
