Colts DT Issues: Simon Cut, "Booger" Out for Year?? (1 Viewer)

I'll make a statement here. In NO WAY will the Colts repeat after these injuries.

I'm not saying the Saints will, but there is no way the Colts will either. The Pats will get their revenge this year.

When the Pats won SB's they had some pretty bad injuries themselves. And who knows who will win the SB now? And they have a ton of players on the PUP list including Stallworth and Moss was out.

Who picked the Colts to win after they looked so bad last year and were the last ranked run D?

And yes the SB winner will come from the AFC as usual.

Injuries are a part of the game and good teams overcome it.

Keep in mind there is no confirmation to how hurt Booger is, if he is hurt, or how long he would be out.

So, I see you guys cheer about injuries? I would never do that about any of your players.

I don't see where ayone is cheering. If you think we shouldn't post about it like him being out won't affect the game, then you're kidding yourself.

And the 4 games you started the season with were against juggernauts like the Texans, Giants, Jags and Jets. Not one good offensive team!!!!! And, the Texans the only game you guys won convincingly. So, even though you didn't have Booger for those games you did have Cato June, Jason David and Nick Harper.

You guys will have to score 45 points to beat us with the defense you have now!

Not just injuries, but the colts didn't make free agent moves like the Pats did during those years. Players wanted to play for them. But the Colts lost free agents. FA's on Defense which is really important.

I say Jason David intercepts Manning in Game 1 and we win by 10.

Since when has making FA moves lead to success? Yes I know it looks good in the offseason. What makes you think players did not want to play for the Colts? Maybe the Colts do not want to do much in FA, as usual.

Simon was a FA and he was a bust. The Colts do not do much in FA any year but build in the draft. Our biggest FA pickup was a kicker.

Oh and David hardly picks anyone and now he will be playing man coverage against either Marvin or Reggie.

The Colts could have kept some of their defensive players this year if they wanted too, but they did not have to.

ColtsOwn, NO ONE cheered for the injury. As for going 4-0 without Booger early last year, look at this list of tough competition: NYG, HOU, JAX, NYJ. Good thing you were able to pull out victories over such powerhouses without Booger. Whew.

I expect probowler's OT J Brown(He will shut Freeny(sp?)down) & DE Will Smith to have a huge night against the Colts

I also expect Deuce & Reggie to get over 100 yds in this game

Oh and you feel you can only win if we are banged up and have missing players? You all have a new Colts thread all the time.

Nobody knows the deal with Booger. He could be out for a few weeks or a year. There is no official confirmation or link about this anywhere, so far its speculation.

And Booger was gotten in a trade last year and started playing week 5. We won 4 games with a thin D line. So, we still could try to make a trade for a DT if he is hurt.

Now the Colts will still win this game I think IMO no matter who is out. As long as Manning is playing I think they will win.

And how would you guys feel if we are missing players due to injury but the Colts still win.:ezbill: Face it.....good teams overcome injuries and losses. The Colts had a ton of injuries last year and overcame them.

I have read some of your posts in the past and they have been good thorough football talk. However, this latest post is totally ridiculous. Not ONE poster on this board wrote a post with anything to do about cheering your teams injuries. Whether you realize it or not, you guys are the team to beat because you own the Lombardi Trophy. I'm sure if you visited other teams message boards and they have you on their schedule...they will have a thread discussing the Colts injurys and how they feel they can beat you.--That's what fans do!
As far as their being a new colts thread- You just so happen to be the first game on our schedule, and after our sucess last year, a great measuring stick....and oh, yea...You are the defending champs.
Remember this is SR.com. If you really think anyone on this board is gonna be shaking in their boots come that first game...After OUR teams success last year and OUR trust in this coaching staff....You have come to the wrong place for sympathy, if that's what you are looking for. We, just like you, believe in OUR team and believe they can beat anyone on the schedule.

I agree. Fortunate or unfortunate, the injuries and losses to the Colts' defense is at the very least pertinent information to our first game of the year. Most people here probably aren't "happy" per se about McFarlane being potentially hurt (especially considering he's from LSU) but could affect how the game plays out.

Would you rather us not talk about the game at all and look past the Colts to the Tampa game? Federerfan is right in my opinion, the Colts have earned the talk, and anything that changes the complexion of the matchups is going to be discussed.

As far as us being borderline overconfident, well maybe. But we're Saints fans. We have about 40 years of catching up to do in terms of actually having something to be confident in.

True, FA moves don't necessarily translate to success to the new team, as the Redskins can attest. However, to the team that loses those players, and the Colts lost at least 3, it could be devastating.

As far as players not wanting to play for the Colts, that comment is absurd--I agree. But you must admit, Peyton had to restructure his contract in order to retain Freeney and ultimately allow a long term deal to get done. They lost Stokely as well.

Facts are facts, the Colt team entering the 2007 campaign is not the one that won Lombardi in February. They have heavily invested in a core group of star players at the expense of depth and loss of key free agents. It's not uncommon in this era of the NFL and I'm sure it was well worth it. The Saints will probably be in the same boat in a couple of years.

No one is cheering the loss of Booger, he's an LSU guy. All anyone here is saying is that his loss further adds to the losses in FA.
