N/S Colts QB Anthony Richardson benched after pulling himself out of the game (2 Viewers)

Man I was pretty high on Steichen when he got the Colts job but really thought he made a big mistake taking Richardson. AR was much more raw than any QB coming out of college in the last few yrs

Boy I was right about that draft class...got called every other name in the book because I was against taking a QB in the first
You said this:
How to throw away a 1st and ensure that you pick another QB in round 1 next year too

I'll save all of you some time, Richardson is going to plummet down the board ending up a day 3 pick. He's going to cry and say something like "Imma show 'em all" then he'll get a chance, then get benched for a guy picked up off the street to play QB....and then we're going to have to draft another QB in '24
He showed you, he was the 4th pick....HA!

Now he being replaced by a Super Bowl winning QB, not some bum of the street! DOUBLE HA!!!!
:hihi:

Well he should've fallen down the board. I had him doing the Malik Willis thing.

He's predraft profile IMO was worse than Willis...at least Willis threw the ball in college

Either way if we did take Richardson we would've had to take another QB....double double ha

He only started like 15 games in college….Guys like Mayfield and Darnold were ‘busts’ too, and now are playing really good football. Jordan Love didn’t even start a game in the NFL until he was 24 and there was bust talk his first two seasons as well.

AR has played terribly, dont get me wrong, but way too early to declare the guy a bust.

Maybe he does improve, but I don't think it's at all likely. The difference between Richardson and Love, Mayfield, and Darnold is that those 3 guys were good in college and Richardson wasn't.

Send him to a place like GB and watch what happens. Some guys are just not ready. Willis looks like a completely different guy now in Green Bay. He didn't have enough college experience but his measurables are off the charts. I don't think it's an accident that a guy like Jayden is playing so well after 55 starts in college.

Problem is that would mean Richardson needs 45 starts in the NFL to get where Jayden was. That's over 3 years of starts. That's a lot of losing and not likely to happen given how bad he is right now.

I don’t agree with the title of this post. He didn’t pull himself out the game , he tapped on his helmet after running and was “ out of breath “. If I’m gassed , I cannot give the team my best effort and considering the athlete he is , he may have honestly needed a breather which is not normal for him. With so many athletes dropping dead post covid you think there would be a bit more consideration afforded to him. But instead we are questioning his love for the game when it’s been his priority since he could walk as a child. These are polarizing times, people want to be outraged for the attention it gets them.

While many of you are quick to criticize him I will ask you to consider that this is the same organization who broke Andrew Luck. Richardson has been on the run the majority of his time in Indy because they still haven’t figured out how to protect a young quarterback.

In any sense , I’d trade all 3 of our quarterbacks for him at the drop of a hat.

He didn’t steal signals , he didn’t pay to injure anyone , he didn’t bet on games , he got tired of running for his gosh darned life.

And many of you armchair quarterbacks haven’t ran anything lately but your mouths

Let the kid live and learn , holy hell

meh. hes getting paid millions to lead a franchise, give me a break. poor baby lost his breath. there are only 32 starting QB jobs in the world, you dont just quit when given the opportunity.

you know its bad when pat mcafee, an obvious colts fan and extremely optimistic person, laid into him monday during the show.

and if saints would have him, hed be a #2 or #3. hes on par with rattler/haener IMO. definitely not better than carr.

hes going down as a jamarcus russell level BUST within the next 2 years.

He needs to sit and work with a good staff. He obviously came out too early, but when you get that first-round grade, it's hard to stay in school, especially if you are not from a certain socioeconomic background.

I can't believe Richardson was even drafted as a QB in the first round. I watched almost every game he played at Florida and I believe he is a great athlete and very good RB, but he's not a good QB.

Richardson is a big, freakish athlete with a dynamic arm. At no points has he ever been a quarterback. Watched a lot of the last game. Pouting like a child on the sidelines.

I don't blame him for taking the money. But it is a sign of how NFL teams will do anything to find a franchise QB, particularly one that can run and throw. His athletic ability made them ignore the fact that he could not competently throw the ball at even the college level.

I get dreaming on the upside, but some risks on upside are just too big to be a top 5 or even top 10 pick.

But, if I was him, you are damn right I'd take the money and laugh at all the people calling me a bust. He would have been foolish to risk injury once he knew he was a first round pick.
