Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 (death of Supergirl) and #8 (death of Barry Allen).

He also signed Infinity Gauntlet #1. Starlin previously signed. Joe Rubinstein signed it today as well. That's the main creative team all complete and signatures witnessed.

So, I saw the other day that a similar copy of Infinity Gauntlet #1 sold on eBay for over $300. Only difference, it was graded at a 9.8. My copy was graded at a 9.6. If I was ever willing to sell that book once I get it back (I'm not), that would be a pretty decent profit for me. Too bad (or not) that it's going to stay on my shelf...

I'm not sure if any of you have ever backed any Kickstarter projects or not, but I pledged to get the limited edition Jim Lee collector's backpack. It's a very nice concept for those who venture to cons.

So I was finally able to chat the the guy at my LCS who's been coordinating some events with BEC. According to him, they pretty much have everything locked in from a guest standpoint. They're just going to take their time with announcements to build to the show.

I also asked how the event went on the 31st. He said it went very well and a lot of good ideas were shared. Of all the people in attendance, only one guy was constantly complaining about the June show being cancelled. Most people remain excited.

Nope. He didn't even have any leads on who they might be. Or if he actually did, he wasn't saying so.

They have several small events happening in New Orleans in the coming month that I wasn't aware of...

In Slidell, there's Showcase Comic-Con on July 4th weekend.
Of course, MechaCon is also in July (not my thing though).
Geek'd Con in Shreveport in August.
In September, Kenner hosts New Orleans Comic-Con (Mighty Cons).

That's a lot of stuff in the coming months.

I think that it's pretty awesome that the con scene is flourishing in recent times. I hope that it continues to grow to the point where we have solid cons year round with plenty of options to pick from. It's so much easier to miss one knowing that you have another one not too far down the road.

So they've announced that Amy Chu will be back for the November show. If you haven't read her Poison Ivy mini-series from a few years ago, you're missing out.

So BEC announced that Peter Tomasi will be in New Orleans for the November show. Good they were able to get him back.

On another note, are you guys still heading to Jackson this weekend? Not sure what time I'll be heading out, but I'm looking forward to taking a pic with the Nature Boy and get my copy of Secret Wars #8 signed by Mike Zeck.

I'm not as sure now. I'm going to Florida for a week next month and am closely looking at my money go make a determination about Saturday. Still haven't fully decided.

Wasn't planning on hitting Jackson. It's got several of the same guests as LACC back in March, plus I've gotta save up for Geek'd and BEC. Also thinking of taking the kids to an LSU game in September, so wallet is already crying mercy.
