I was happy with the sports card thing last year because I got to meet Willie Roaf and got his auto. I would imagine they'll start to fire up guest announcements in the next month or two, since that one is in August.Geek'd Con has always punched a little bit above its weight and has historically got some guests that are pretty decent gets for a con that size. They had Michael Rooker at the absolute peak of GotG popularity, for example.
But this past year was kind of light in terms of big name guests, which I heard more than a little grumbling about. And they also did this weird hybrid sports card convention thing where they brought in a bunch of old athletes to do card signings upstairs. I have no idea how that worked out for them financially, but I know talk on the show floor was that that money probably should have gone to actual guests for the nerd convention and not towards something with comparatively little overlap.
Also, they've been radio silent on social media for months, which is atypical. Not sure what that is about.
