Comic Con Talk (Renamed since LA Comic Con can't get it together) (3 Viewers)

Awesome. Glad to see it growing and them investing in stronger guest lineups.
Yeah. 2023 suffered because they had that AAU basketball tourney going on at the same time, which ate up hotel space.

I'd be like, instant reply with a hell yes! Lol. Nice!

Easily Fan Expo's biggest (and best) lineup here in New Orleans. Giancarlo Esposito has been added to the lineup.

Wait... we need to hear this story. I imagine it's different than my Carl Weathers story, which was pretty funny.

Spill the beans. What did you do?

It's not that great of a story, but it really has bothered me since it happened lol.

Long story short, when he was at Fan Expo Dallas last year, my friend who is a major Star Wars fan (501st and Rebel Legion member, real hardcore) was supposed to come with me to meet him. At the last minute something with work came up and he couldn't go, so he sent me with a Stormtrooper helmet he wanted to get signed. My friend specified he didn't want it made out to him, just signed.

I bring it and wait in line, and finally it's my turn and I go up to Giancarlo and tell him how much I like his work and Breaking Bad and the Mandalorian, etc. We talk for a second and he's cool and friendly, then he goes to sign the helmet and I clarify just the signature, that it's for my friend and he just wanted it signed.

His whole demeanor changed. He got a frown and signed it quickly and while never rude, certainly became a bit more...terse, shall we say. Then I realized that my request (no name, just the signature, specified that it wasn't for me) absolutely made it seem like I was an autograph scalper who was going to resell the helmet and celebs HATE that sheet. Rightfully so.

I assure you, I am no autograph scalper. That helmet is now my friend's Christmas Tree topper.

But I have lived in sadness ever since that Gustavo Fring himself possibly thought I was trying to flip his signature for money. I ain't about that life.

I gotta make it right. For my own mental wellbeing.

But embarrassing myself in front of celebrities at cons is what I do.

I once had a panic attack in front of Ernie Hudson and then told him how much I loved "Congo." Nobody loves "Congo." Even Ernie didn't believe that sheet, but he was gracious to a very obviously mentally ill weirdo.
