If you don’t like traveling with a bunch of clothes and toothbrushes in your carry-on, use a credit card with baggage delay coverage. If the bag is delayed more than six hours, you get $200 to buy sheet.
I never heard of that.
We have 2 major credit cards.
We bought the plane tickets with Citibank Visa.
We also have Capital One Mastercard....but the airfare purchase was with Citibank Visa.

Do you know which Citi card it is?

Costco Wholesale....the membership and Visa Card Combo.
The front left corner just displays "Citi"....the front right corner displays "VISA signature"
It is gray or silver.

Looks like the Costco card used to have baggage delay coverage when it was under the AmEx program, but Citi has been cutting the benefits ever since it bought the program in 2017. One of the benefits cut from the card was baggage delay coverage.

For example, they removed a bunch of benefits from all Citi cards, including the Costco card, in 2019:

  • Worldwide Car Rental Insurance
  • Trip Cancellation & Interruption Protection
  • Worldwide Travel Accident Insurance
  • Trip Delay Protection
  • Baggage Delay Protection
  • Lost Baggage Protection
  • Medical Evacuation
  • Citi® Price Rewind
  • 90 Day Return Protection
  • Missed Event Ticket Protection
  • Roadside Assistance Dispatch Service
  • Travel & Emergency Assistance

Might be worth checking your Capital One card for its travel benefits. I have a primary card we use for day to day stuff but we use a different card for all travel booking and purchases because it has better travel benefits.

#1 No Immigration....just Customs...correct?
#2 How about the CARRY ON thingee? That needs to be rescreened again?
They should both be Terminal One and I can't remember about the carry on stuff. So you will already be done with screening personally and checked luggage. Just don't be wearing any Devils or Rangers gear and you should be able to avoid lockup.

Thank you for your helpful information that was presented in a funny style!

I have done the opposite trip many times before Covid (Copenhagen/Nola via Canada) and we never had to go through immigrations but remained in the international area of the airport without any issues.
