I know this is a huge risk of turning this too political, so avoid going that far with it.

However, Looks like the NSC had a playbook and recommendations about Pandemics that, shocker, weren't followed. That being said, they are officially saying that there are two other federal guidance documents they have been following (to what degree??). Either way, I think we can all agree that we've taken a slow response to this, on the Federal level.

Ward, i realize you’re trying to do a job here, as moderator.. But c’mon, we’re waaaayy beyond the point of ‘political’ vs ‘non-political’... That ship sailed with this administration ignoring the threat, then trying to downplay the threat, then reacting too late- and even still, worrying more about himself, er, themselves aNd the upcoming election, instead of how to get ahead of this virus (to the extent that’s even possible.)

The moderators here do a great job, but enough with trying to police politics in a time when there is only facts vs lies, and not much else matters.

Michigan, Illinois, La, New York, NJ and Ma all really taking off. Los Angeles popped 25% today but total test numbers were up in line with increase. San Fransisco, Portland and Seattle, the three places with the earliest and most aggressive responses all seem to be doing really well.

Understood, but there is a political site to address that. There's no doubt a political component that's unavoidable to a point, but this thread is meant more as an exchange of information and understanding of the virus and associated epidemic. I'd like to keep the PSA thrust of the thread.

There's room for debating policy. But that should be more of a function of good practices based on observed science and leave the political stuff for the other site.

‘There is a political site to address that’? Dude, we shouldn’t have to go to the MAP just to get accurate information.. that’s what were talking about here, accurate information. Vs misinformation and bold-faced lies... Full Stop.

Then post accurate info without political commentary. That's all I can say.

I think most in this thread are that frame of mind. Basically just use the stats as a general indication knowing that testing is lagging/inconsistent and the numbers are much higher. By how much? Another inexact formula.
