Been out of the boil game for a while but planning to make a big return in 2025. Previously used the Bayou Classic High Pressure (pretty basic) burner with an 80 qt pot. A piece of the burner broke off during a move and I replaced it with King Kooker. The King Kooker did not perform very well. Since I think I will be doing the 3 or 4 sacks, I'm strongly considering using the 2 pot method. So, I'm gonna need at least 1 burner (2 if I go the 2 pot method) and another pot. I'm looking for recommendations on what I should get. I'm only going to be doing 1, maybe 2 boils a year, but I want something that is going to last and won't break the bank.

I use the Outdoor Gourmet 90 qt from Academy sports. It isn't exactly light on the wallet ($450), but it certainly is nice and works well boiling one sack at a time. My former burner was built by my long deceased Uncle and sounded like a rocket during blast-off. The regulator was the key for that thing and most regulators had too little flow, so you could combine the high-pressure regulator from the old Bayou Classic with your newer King Kooker and come up with something that works for you. If you don't want to remove the old hose, Amazon sells a 40 PSI Bayou Classic High Pressure regulator for $37.

I've been having my burner so long 13 years, i don't even remember what brand it is but it has the dual jets. whichever one it is, i wasn't happy with it at first. i replaced the regulator the next year and it was 1000x better. then the next year, i went from an 80 qt SS pot to a 120 qt aluminum pot. the aluminum pot brings the water to a boil quicker. plus i can do 70 lbs of crawfish plus the fixings in the 120 qt where in the 80 qt i could only do 35 lbs. but for some reason that 80 qt SS pot, the basket was (imo) too small for that pot, there was too much gap between the basket and the pot, whereas the aluminum pot i have, the basket fits in the pot with just minimal gap .
BUT, with the 120 qt pot, you better have at least another person that can lift them out with you, because 70 lbs plus fixing is HEAVY.. lol

Nice thing about the Outdoor Gourmet Crawfish Cart is it has a spout that the basket just pivots over onto that dumps them straight into the cooler, so one person can run an entire boil. It was one of the features that convinced me to go ahead and spend the money. Only thing I don't like about it is the hose connection has some anti-tip sensor that cuts off the flow if the angle is off, so have to be careful it remains perfectly flat. I may need to look into the high flow regulator above myself!
