A bunch of people in this thread acting like the tragedy is that darren sharper had fame and fortune and threw it away rather than the tragedy being that he raped people.

it's a fair point and important to point out (perhaps with less umbrage) but the reason is the fans had a 'relationship' with Sharper (and also Cosby)
we really don't have much of another lens to view this
of course most will sympathize with "nameless" victims, but if we have little connection to them it's hard to comment on their pov

This is so sad and yet so overdue. I often re-watch my Super Bowl year videos and when Sharper appears there is a taint now on my wonderful, glorious Saints. I know it was a team of individuals but I truly looked at them as saints to a city in need. Oh well, reality keeps lifting its ugly head in the purist of moments.
