Deonte Harris is apparently... (2 Viewers)

I'm not really surprised at all. Hes a special kind of athlete, and a QB's best friend.

All you gotta do is put the ball in his hands, sit back and enjoy the show. He makes, even some of the best tacklers look foolish at times.

The only reason he went undrafted was bc hes significantly short for the position. Statistics show, people of his height don't have much success at the WR position, but like I said, hes a special player.

Deonte is here to pave the way!

Def one of the most electrifying players I can remember in recent memory.

His height wasn't the main reason he went undrafted he went to a college that most people didn't know existed. He was literally under the radar except for the Saints.

It was obvious to me on that Taysom bomb in the playoff game last season. He's going to be a mismatch nightmare in this offense, especially with a (future) QB who has the arm to chuck it to him downfield.

I don't think Xavier has fully healed from that play. Broke the guys ankles. That route was beautiful by Harris.

Personally I wouldn't put too much stock into Deonte having a huge role in the offense. Under the Payton, the shortest and most productive WR we've had was Lance Moore.

Even then he didn't get a bunch of targets, or was a huge part of a game plan.

I think Harris definitely has talent and he deserve some snaps, but I wouldn't put him in the same conversation as Tyreke Hill. I think Harris is a poor man's Percy Harvin, and that's saying a lot.

I agree with your assessment, but probably not the comp with Moore, who was getting 73-121 targets in his four peak seasons with the Saints. That's a fairly significant amount of targets (c.5-7 per game).

Outside WRs Thomas/Sanders, Slot Harris, TE Cook, and RB AK41. Tell me how you stopping that if your the Bucs.

Happy to hear this. I wanted to see him more and Ginn less last year

A 4 inch difference isn't much in football, especially when both of said players are so reliant on their speed to be successful at what they do. Will he ever be at the same caliber as Hill? Only time will tell, but he definitely can. What Tyreek Hill has that Harris doesn't is an arm strong enough to throw it to him.
It's not just the height, it's the 15 lbs of weight as well, and it's not like Tyreek is at an ideal weight either for the physical aspects of being an every-down WR.

Again, Deonte is a great player and I hope he exceeds every expectation. I think he can be a high-impact player even if it's not in the mold of a classic every-down WR...there's nothing wrong with that.

Your right, im sure that wss probably a big factor as well, but not the biggest factor.

In the NFL, if you have talent they will find you. I mean just take a look at Adam Trautman. There has only been one other player make it in the NFL from Dayton. Trautman was drafted in the 3rd round. There are hundreds of small school guys that have been drafted. Unfortunately there are still some specific measurables that can scare some GM's away. Especially when you look at the history and it shows that people of his size have rarely had success at the receiver position.

Some people get real caught up in that, and sometimes lose out on a gamechanging player.

I'm thankful, Sean isn't one of those people

Here would be a sneaky play. Line up Kamara, Taysom, and CGM at WR. Cook at TE and put Deonte in the Backfield see what the defenses guess and adjust accordingly. Talk about a potential nightmare for opposing coordinators.

Not sure I see it. The same players have force, spill and leverage (and BCR) regardless of who gets the ball.

He has so much speed and a special kind of quickness in his moves. You can also see that quickness in his decisions of how to hit a hole. I thin he’ll get more field time in for nothing more than a distraction. I know a 4 wr set with CGM, Taysom, Sanders and Harris would be sweet.
