Derek Carr on Michael Thomas’ tweets (1 Viewer)

MT tweeted criticism of Carr DURING a game. That's about as sh1tty as it gets. Saints need to excise the cancer.
Never said he didn’t. And I clearly said I didn’t like MT tweets. In response to a post saying carr threw teammates under the bus, I said CARR never criticized teammates during a press conference or to the media.

Some poster here said he did and I am trying to find it and I watched the press conference and I don't see it. Guess some poster just don't like Carr regardless.

Pretty sure only Allen referenced it directly and he THREW Olave under the bus when he was running the correct route.

Yet, it doesn't happen if Carr didn't go ballistic over it. You can quantify and say one doesn't happen with the latter. Nobody is particularly innocent.

At least Carr is trying to make amends with his horrid behavior this past season as Dennis pretend to be in lala land and Thomas going full drama Queen.

I have seen way worse with players going at it with each other. I remembered Winston and trequan going at it but I never thought it was a big deal but players having bad communication. It was squashed and never seen any more issues between the two. I remembered Brees and Shockey having issues. Carr and Olave was a one time issue that I saw on camera but people consistently bring up that up with every Carr thread and debate. I find it puzzeling.

We are going back to problem that a possession WR isn't a good fit for Carr.

The accuracy to hit Thomas in tight coverage isn't a skill set by Carr.
I thought I was alone on this here lonely island. It's the timing thing...

I mean, in all fairness, part of it is Carr's fault but the fuel to the fire was DA's doing.

-DC launches the ball to the sidelines and starts fussing at Olave, even though he technically did his job and the first read was open.
-Carr brushes it to the side during the presser but DA decides to place the blame of the play on Olave
-All media begins coming at Olave and he falls on the sword for the play
-MT tweets the progressions and lets everyone know that, while Olave should have gunned it, he did his job of clearing out for Taysom

That whole timeline points the the cause of this issue being DA and I truly believe that MT has more of a problem with DA and how he conducts business than Carr, per se.

MT seems to have a problem with everybody tbh. Dude needs to look in the mirror.
Well, this season, there wasn't a hint at any cracks until that moment. At this point, it's what they know and what we assume. What will happen, will...

It just seems like between him, cjg, training staff, carr, DA, people on twitter, he’s always involved in some sort of drama. Chris is a younger guy and seems to have gotten over the Carr ‘incident’ before Mike did. It’s just silly he is still posting about it. Frankly as a fan i forgot that even happened.

Yep. Everyone was wrong in that situation. Olave wasn't in the read progression so Carr should not have yelled at him or thrown the ball in his direction. DA should have kept that in house and just said we'll have to look at the film and see what happened and the rest we will keep in house. And Olave, although he was a decoy and not in the read progression, should have been running hard as the decoy instead of giving half effort. And, MT probably should not have talked about the read progression on Twitter. But, honestly, I don't have a huge problem with MT defending Olave when DA should have kept his mouth shut in the press conference.

That being said I think DA, Carr, and Olave have moved on but MT has clearly decided to declare war on the team and Carr on Twitter which is uncalled for. If he has issues with DA, that's cool. He can move on. But burning bridges on the way out isn't the way to go. Then again, Carr should have given the no-comment on this stuff and just moved on instead of fanning the flames no matter how out of line MT is.

Because it’s still the 2023 season and this isn’t conventionally a time in the calendar such a move would be made.
I'm pretty sure once the team season is over with... It's immediately the off-season and they can makes moves to cut or extend players. Even though most players like to wait till FA period to do it.

I'll have to look it up.

I think you have to wait until a few days after the Super Bowl when the new league year starts for it to count on next year's cap. They also may decide to wait until they can designate him a June 2nd cut so that they can split the dead money over two seasons.

Just reserve/futures stuff for now.
Here’s a 2013 Bleacher Report article about that process. Little, if any has changed since then:

Reserve-Futures Contracts
