I don't think an interview is any indication that he doesn't.Whatever, just focus on your job if you want to help the team.

Or they teach. Those who can, do. Those who can't, talk about it.

Yeah those guys are amazing players, but read what DC4 is actually conveying. You have this super nice dude, who sees red when he sees the endzone, and is willing to run through a Khalil Mack. Not run around, but through a Mack. It’s unreal. Mack and Adams specializes in one thing, while TH7 specializes/has specialized in a handful, and he produces in all of them. He’s a unicorn
Found the actual interview video.
Just like I said, the interviewer said “in a true sense, he’s a football player”. Glad I’m not the only one that can grasp the difference between a player and a football player.
Carr is 100% correct…. Good for him to acknowledge the greatness and be unafraid to kiss the ring of TmfH7.
Exactly. I can’t name another player, in the modern era that has played all of those positions. Plus, it’s not like he’s been doing it all of his life neither. He’s only done it at the pro level, on the fly even, so he really shouldn’t be as good as he is, yet he is. TH7 is the quintessential football player.I don’t get why Carr’s take seems so disingenuous or ridiculous to some. I think he’s spot on. As some in here have said, Carr is really speaking in terms of pure football ability. As an all around strictly football player, TH7 has no equals currently in the league. And he’s been consistently great at it since ‘17! That’s crazy.
Truth is had Hill adorned a legacy franchise’s uniform: Packers, Steelers, (especially) Dallas, he’d absolutely be in consistent talks about being a future HOF. He also would’ve already had multiple ProBowl trips and AllPros under his built had he played for one of them. Taysom is HIM!
Derek Carr was on the Pardon My Take podcast this week and gave his personal take on Taysom Hill. Excerpts below are from a 7/19/24 article by Kelsey Dallas of Deseret News as viewed at sports.yahoo.com
Derek Carr just called Taysom Hill a ‘Hall of Fame football player’
‘Taysom is the best football player I’ve ever played with,’ Carr said
New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr is full of praise for someone who could technically take his job — former BYU quarterback turned Saints’ Swiss Army knife Taysom Hill.
During an appearance this week on the “Pardon My Take” podcast, Carr described Hill as “the best football player I’ve ever played with” and “the nicest person in the world.”
“He can do everything — throws, runs, catches, fullback, quarterback, tight end, receiver, slot, blocks punts, personal protector,” Carr said. “That man is a Hall of Fame football player.”
Carr also noted that Hill is much more aggressive than some people realize.
To illustrate his point, he described a play from a Saints game against the Carolina Panthers. Hill ran toward the end zone like his life depended on it, Carr said, noting that the former BYU QB “sees red” when he has a chance to score.
“For the nicest person in the world, I looked at him as the most violent, angry ... He just puts his head down against like three dudes and pretty much trucked them all. Dude, that was the most violent, impressive thing I’ve ever seen,” Carr said.
He added that Hill’s skills are obvious to him, even if they may not be easily captured on the stats sheet.
“Taysom is the best football player I’ve ever played with,” Carr said.

That's just listing 10 players that Carr has played with in his career. There's plenty of others who merit mentioning.
Those were glowing comments that Carr made about Taysom in that interview. Here's hoping that Hill lives up to them in 2024 and beyond with the Saints.
I think Carr is right. THILL is the best football player he's seen play. Using the term "versatile" to describe THILL does not do him justice. Saying a RB that can also catch well is "versatile". Or saying a QB that throws and runs well is versatile. THILL plays all of the positions on offense and plays them well. He also plays special teams well and blocks punts and tackles. (i think he could play LB well) Anyway, Its easier to name the positions he doesn't play well. Kicker/punter/Oline/dline The positions he can play well : QB, RB, FB, TE, WR, ST, IMO LB - he's 5 zip codes past "versatile" Just saying. With that said, thats also Carr being a fan of THILLEven as he talks slightly negative about someone, he prefaces it with, “And i Love Mike”(Michael Thomas as an example). It’s pretty obvious to me that either Davante Adams or Khalil is the best player on the list of guys he played with. Taysom is the most versatile on that list, but Adams is a first ballot HOF player. Mack was a force of nature too.
I just hope the new staff finds a role for him that works for Hill and the entire offense. I personally don’t think he’s a legit TE. He can play starting TE in the NFL, but that doesn’t mean he SHOULD be playing TE. To his credit, he does it because we need him to do it. That’s all you can ask of a player, but I just think we should put less on Hill’s plate so he can focus on being GREAT at his particular role. Having him all over the field is exciting, but to me it’s not ideal. We need a real pass catching TE badly. I’m hoping Holker is that guy.I think Carr is right. Guess what I meant was that people already know Taysom is good, no should have to be convinced. I would like to see Derek focus less on interviews and media platforms and help get us on the right track.Whatever, just focus on your job if you want to help the team.
This offense more than others requires multiple versatile players. Wr's that can play all three positions. Te's that can play TE, WR and FB. Rb's that can play RB and WR. So Taysom is not only the perfect piece for them to use, but actually gives us a chance to excell in year 1 under this system, imo. They will use him early and often, he'll be in every first and second down. And if its 3rd and managable, id expect him on 3rd too.I just hope the new staff finds a role for him that works for Hill and the entire offense. I personally don’t think he’s a legit TE. I’m really hoping we use Hill out of the backfield so he can be motioned around and used on dump offs and occasional runs up the gut. Having him in the QB room is too much. Carr should take 99 percent of the snaps there, and i’m hoping the new staff is more creative in how they use Taysom. Just snapping him the ball and telling him to run is too predictable. His rushing average is good, but he does get tackled around the line a good bit when we do that. Excited to see how his role changes under a new staff with fresh eyes.
I sure would like to see the film of Mack and Adams doing ALL of the things that TH does...I mean, the guy played with prime Khalil Mack, and that Davante Adams fella ain’t too shabby.
