Derrick Carr is just who Raiders fans said he was. (1 Viewer)

I largely agree with you although I'm curious to see what it would've looked like if we had an OC who had even a mild clue what he was doing. Granted, Carr did get shut out here last year with LV so it may very well be a case of a flawed QB and a terrible OC.
It’s wild to me that we brought Gruden in as a consultant, took the reputationsl risk with it, and it looks like we didn’t learn anything other than some folks can’t get past Gruden’s history.

What was it all for?

He shouldn't have played today. There were short balls to open receivers. He can't throw the ball away to avoid a sack. He locks in on targets, no shot clock. Played tough but we should have committed to one QB taking all the reps this week. Winston should have started.

Carr isn't it long term. I've said he isn't Cousins, Wilson, Stafford level but in the Tannehill and Jones tier. He wasn't a Defense away from being a top 10 guy. He is the classic 16-24 QB that says the right things and flashes enough to keep getting contracts.
Boom this is it in a nutshell

Many folks thought we were getting a Ferrari but we ended up with a Ford Taurus from a tote the note. We’re gonna pay a lot for this Taurus too.

This all day...

Carr Raiders offense was at least scoring over 20 points with less talent

if we had the Raiders version of Carr we are 3-1 maybe 4-0.

Carmichael is the problem. He has no clue what he’s doing. His play calling is atrocious especially on third down.

Is there anyone in the building with the slightest clue on how to call an offense in 2023?!?!
Gruden but I think it’s very sporadic. Bring him in full time.

To get us pumped for a season that a coaching staff on their own couldn't get us pumped for...It got some of us to think that things will be different.

He's not special. Why is that so hard for people to understand? It may be better with a competent coach but we don't have that.

what about all that offseason sunshine pumping..."getting Brees like vibes again" and so on....Underhill and co were in on this as well.
It’s time for the local media to start asking questions and not let the Saints brass slip out of this….gonna be hard though after years of buttering up the Saints with softball coverage.

Where you at Buddy D when we need ya.

I’m sure that played a role, we probably should have rolled with Winston. If the offense had been clicking the first three games, then go with Carr.

Either Winston proves why he wasn’t starting, or he lights a fire under Carr to show why he got signed here.
Playing Winston today should have been a no brainer win/win for DA. If the team responded and Winston led the team to a win, DA could have said he did his job and when Carr is healthy enough to start, he will start. If Winston performed like Carr did today, he could have laid it at Winston's feet. Instead, he played a hurt Carr who played worst in a home game with better protection than he had last week on the road. It's PC and it's the oline. But let some of the people here tell it, Winston gave up 18 points in 12 minutes and Winston missed a 46 yard FG.

Who was this loss on? It's on the same people who lost it last week except that Carr played the whole game save for the last drive. Oh wait, Winston did throw that INT so I guess Winston lost this one too.

That's who I'm blaming it on

Teams don't let special QBs walk. I respect Nick but he's quickly losing my respect with his soft takes on the decision makers.

The guy is paid the GDP of a small country, and he has no say in the game plan? That’s called a game manager, and those dudes are a dime a dozen.
When Carr tries to play his way out of trouble, he generally makes big mistakes and puts his team in a bigger hole. He really misses far to ma open receivers. And when he makes a decent read, his pass placement is questionable at best.
