We all know our OLBs had a less than stellar game today but that's been the case several times this season.

However, today was also the first time all season we've only had 2 active DTs on our roster. I've been saying it was a mistake to only carry 3 DTs on the roster since final cuts and I think it finally hurt us this game. Hargrove wasn't available to sub in with them and they were on the field way more than usual.

DTs don't have the best stamina as is and they are taking on the strongest lineman on the team down after down, sometimes two at a time. Without a rotation they are susceptible to getting worn down, especially when a team like the Ravens ran it as much as they did.

Yes we were taking on a Super Bowl caliber team on their home field but I seriously doubt Ray Rice has a big of day as he did if Hargrove was healthy and Ellis and Ayodele could come out on some plays to get a breather.

That's why some if us think we should at least consider "you know who"!! The falclowns are going to try to run it down our throats next week and again if we face them in the playoffs. We have to stop the power run game and free up vilma.

This game really had me dreaming of some huge run stuffing DTs. Too bad that's not Gregg's style of player.

DT & LB are big time needs, throw in a DE as well. Next year's draft & Free Agency focus should be LB / DT / DE / RB / OT / WR

Lets wait and see what is available in FA first. If they get a CBA done in time this years FA peroid will have at least twice the normal amount of available players due to last years change in the RFA rules.

By the same token, we will lose players as well. Therefore, we are not taking the "plug -N- play" approach, we will have to take the "replace -N- renew" approach before we can look for upgrades. UNLESS, the ones we are looking to replace hit the market..................Thus killing 2 birds with one stone.

Hargrove has never been much of a presence against the downhill running game. I doubt him being in there would've helped us very much today. From my observation the ravens did average anywhere between 4-6 yards a run when running between the tackles but the big gainers were all due to our whiffs or bad angles by danny clark, scott shanle and marvin mitchell.

To answer the question in the thread title, no - because we had 3 DT's active in Ellis, Ayodele and Hargrove.

Poor tackling killed us, plain and simple.

We don't have a NT that can push a guard upfield anyway so what does it matter?

Unfortunately the draft might happen before FA if they keep dragging their feet. We won't be able to sign players that fill needs then draft BPA like we usually do. We need at least a DE, DT, and OLB. 2 DEs and 2 OLBs wouldn't hurt.
