NFL DK Metcalf requests trade [update: Steelers trade 2nd round pick for DK Metcalf and signed Metcalf to a new 5yr/$150M deal] (9 Viewers)

Make it happen Loomis!

Instant Alpha Big X WR1 with homerun potential on every play.

Y'all want to remake the WR room, this is how you do it.

Trade for Metcalf. He wants out and everyone has known he's wanted out so his value is lower right now. Whoever gets him will benefit from that.

Sign Kirk as FA on a prove it deal. He won't command a lot right now.

Trade Olave, hell maybe trade him for Metcalf.

Extend Shaheed.

Keep Means and KAJr.

Draft a Big Z.

X: DK/Means
Y: Kirk/Means/KAJr
Z: Shaheed/Draft pick

That's just one scenario, but this draft is weak at Big X WRs and DK is better than any option in the draft for a Big X.

DK can also play Big Z b/c of his speed. That would allow him to flip sides if Means develops into a X WR in the mold of Adams.

Another draft option is to draft a Big X and let the develop under DK and DK can play both Big X and Big Z.

This guy more than likely will hit 10K yards in 3 years, he's not a scrub.

I agree with the DK take bc he is LEGIT, but Kirk is “mid”
Jags severely overpaid that dude and now realized it

This draft is not weak at X WR dude. Literally the best WR in the draft is a Big C receiver, then you have Tre Harris, Ayomanmar, Bech, Higgins, not counting all the TE’s

Only if he's willing to take the vet minimum, a stale bag of Zapp's BBQ chips, and he'll promise to yell at Carr 3x per game.

I'd look at his cap numbers if there were any chance, so therefore I will not.
I have to say, I am loving your work at the moment...

He gonna be a Bucc

Now this, would be a problem.

Metcalf would be a steal. He's outperformed Samuel by over 1500 yards and 26 TD's statistically but he's only the 13th highest paid WR. Samuel is the 14th.

He however is still in that Terry Mclauren category of WR statistically and McLaurin is around the 16th highest paid WR.

Conversely Cooper Kupp is the 9th highest paid.

i don't think anyone is gonna offer that

They don't really want to trade him, both of their asking prices are incredibly high. Someone is going to fold on what they get back, if a team has to give up 1st and 3rd they aren't paying him 30mil. If he agrees to go to a team willing to pay 30mil they aren't giving up a 1st and a 3rd.

This will get interesting.

Looks like Adams/Allen are our options to add an X prior to draft. Mack Hollins seems to be more of a role player

Maybe if you’re one of those teams picking late and need that last final piece to try to overtake Kansas City (yes, they’re still the big bad boogeyman despite what happened at the dome), you make the move?

Hell, maybe Kansas City themselves would maneuver some dollars and do it, now that I think about it.

In either event, I don't see any interpretation of how this plays out that results in him being a 'steal' for anyone.

As usual, people get sucked in with the dream of getting a moderately priced asset and the real price promptly pops up to kick you in the teeth.

Stafford-style permission to seek a trade, followed by restructure, seems the most likely outcome to me.

Weak as in depth for Big X.

Tet
Higgins
Savion Williams

Ayomanor and Bech might be able to be Big X, but they might be slot guys or just all around WRs. I saw there is questions about Ayomanor's knee holding up, so he might drop because of that, who knows.

Harris could start out as a Big Z and develop into a Big X.

Point being, there is not a lot of Big X guaranteed WRs in the draft whereas you know exactly what you are getting in DK.
