Excellent breakdown. I do agree that he most likely desires a big market and his family are all about the marketing aspect of where they are in life. It definitely would be circus level, but I try to not let that affect my beliefs on him as a football player. Even though the attention would be at an all time high once he reaches the prosI don't know anything about modeling abroad, but generally agree with everything you said. And I don't want him...not even at #9. He comes with the circus of drama that seems to follow the Sanders clan...I'm not a fan of those who SEEK the spotlight. Let the spotlight find you. JMO. So the earlier poster is correct...it's partly non-football related.
But THIS part IS football related. If Shedeur ends up in B&G, I have very little doubt that he will bolt for a larger market team at his first opportunity. Whether that's forcing a trade after holding out due to a breakout season; or playing out his rookie contract as a starter and seeking brighter lights, and better endorsement opportunities from larger markets. At best, he'll be a bridge QB until the next better opportunity comes his way; and we'll be having this conversation again when it's time for contract extension. That is also my OPINION, but I think a valid concern, given his prior history. IF he is the "franchise QB" that we hope for, and that he says he is, I'd want my franchise QB for more than 5 seasons.
I just fundamentally do not believe he is of "franchise QB" caliber; and if he is, I don't think small-market New Orleans will be able to retain him. You think Daddy Prime won't be offering career advice? Daddy Prime's career is Exhibit A for why I think this way. None of us know what's in Shedeur's mind (myself included), but I think my inference is reasonable, and the concern is very valid. If Shedeur is there at #9, I'd rather trade out for additional picks. Again, JMO...
