My dad is using turbotax to file for his taxes. Everytime he goes to efile he gets the error code: 67186407. Then it tells him to update, although he has the most updated version. He can send them feedback, but that is it. :1zhelp:
I traced the error code and turbotax says it a problem on my end, which for the sake of me, I cannot trace. I've done everything they list on their site and it's ********. I'm sure it is just most likely their servers which are overloaded.

I've tried turbo tax a couple times.
The last time I used it. I ended up filing wrong and owning the government like $700 but didn't report it, because I did the form wrong. In the end, it cost me almost $2000 and a big head ache.
I take mine to a CPA now, the $100 a year is well worth it.

I've used Turbo Tax for about 8 years and I've never had a problem. Of course, I don't e-file because I refuse to pay to file when I can just mail it.

Sometimes the error messages are from putting in the information in wrong.

i did my wife and my taxes for 3 years no prob, then my wife has done them the last 2 no prob. In that time we have bought a house, hybrid, and had 2 children so it sounds like you or your computer is the problem.

Same thing happened to me.

:plus-un2: my father does taxes for about 30-35 people every year, and i started helping him a few years ago. He finally got turbo tax THIS year and it is a dream...just mail it in

I've never had a problem with it, although I might switch to H&R Block's Tax Cut next year, if Turbo Tax jacks me for another $30 to e-file federal and state.

I used Turbo Tax for years, but about 2 years ago I got a copy of H&R block Tax Cut and have stuck with it and haven't had any problems. H&R also has an efile charge, but I don't recall what it was, and I file Louisiana taxes online free on the La Dept of Revenue's site.

Some years Turbo Tax will cover the e-file charge, some years they'll rebate it, and some years (like this one) they'll charge you for it. Long after I did my taxes, I took a look at the Tax Cut box while I was at the store (just to see if I got screwed) and noticed that the version I was holding offered free e-file. And it was about 5 bucks cheaper than what I paid for Turbo Tax. So yes, I got screwed.

Fixed the problem later in the day. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it. I couldn't update the original program, but it needed to be updated. So I did it all over. The software sucks.

My wife have been using Turbo Tax for at least eight years without a single problem. We too refuse to e file because of the charge (one stamp vs. $15 bucks, c' mon). I have no complaints even when itemizing deductions. Doing that without the software is a royal PITA. This is the first time I've ever heard anyone complain about Turbo Tax......
