I don't understand this logic. The only way Nielsen and/or Richard would have been protected is if they were calling plays. The co-coordinator title doesn't really make a difference.

You think the reason is because DA could not "man up" or that DA's defense has performed so well over the years that his assistants are being looked at for Coordinator positions? Everything can not be a shot against DA, if we hired a new OC is it because his other job the coach couldn't "man up" and give him a OC position or a testament to how productive that unit was under that coach?

The only coachs worth a fork we are letting go, and keeping Pete not worth a sheet Carmichael. I hate DA with a passion. The Saints are like a drug, I swear im going to boycott them for a year but the next day im back.

Absolutely. We were living a dream. I knew we'd have to snap back to reality at some point but I thought it would be more gradual. Lol we're right back at it now doing the most Saints things ever. This is the perfect example. Naming two young, bright defensive minds as co-defensive coordinator but not letting either one actually coordinate the defense, that's the type of Saints stuff I grew up with.

I feel bad for younger Who Dats. They have to be looking around asking themselves what fresh hell is this? But for the rest of us this is a return to normalcy.

Best case scenario is for either he or Nielsen to get a job elsewhere and the one who stays gets promoted to DC. Honestly, preferably it's Nielsen whom stays.

It’s better to have one DC anyway. Having two co-DCs regressed the defense into several last minute collapses. Our D-Line took a step back in pass rush and stopping the run so I’m not sure if Nielsen would be a big loss based on production.
