Drew Brees endorses Aaron Glenn as his top pick and Klint Kubiak as his in-house hire to become next Saints head coach (28 Viewers)

Man let's just open up the Brinks truck for Ben Johnson and get this done.

Ben Johnson isn't coming here. He likely refused the offer of an interview. He wants a ready made team and this isn't that. I suspect he goes to the Bears or the Patriots because both have a young QB who could be poised to break out with the right coach.

Multiple reports (Schefter and others) that Johnson will be "very selective" in accepting interview requests. It is safe to say that every NFL team with an opening has made an overture to Johnson. If he's not interviewing, it means he turned it down.

Example:

Well, that eliminates the Saints because Loomis will never admit what went wrong or say how they're going to fix it. It hasn't even been twelve months since the gum smacking ordeal.

Johnson is obviously a very good OC, but I have to wonder if he is over playing his hand by treating this like teams have to sell him on taking their job? I know he's the bell of the ball, but seems like that attitude could turn teams off and in the end he's still an OC that hasn't proven he can be a good HC. But, he's likely going to the Bears or New England so maybe he just doesn't care.

ben would better himself by just saying "i'm not doing interviews till x date", and then have it rapidly progress to a quick hiring vs the appearance of he's too good for everybody like you're saying.

When you know your worth you hold leverage...shrugs. I'm sure he has a correct evaluation of said worth based on the Kudos from around the league. As Underhill pointed out the league is a small gossip circle, you'd be surprised at how much "talk" there is among a bunch of adult men. So, I'm sure Ben is acting that way because he's aware of what regard he's held in.

This is that continuity argument all over again.
yep, we all know its coming. i guess its time to embrace it. Only changes, Rizzi and DA out AG in. Rizzi should've declined the interim offer, he'd still be our ST coach. oof.
