Saints Drew Brees for MVP? (1 Viewer)

Nope, not gonna happen.... Pretty Brees would like to have a MVP trophy but I think he will take another Superbowl trophy. He got robbed of the MVP award when he was at his peak. I like Brees and it would be nice for him to have one MVP but it's too late for that. The shortcomings of the defense are overshadowing anything good that Brees is doing this year.

Count me in on the belief that Brady is gonna get it again this year. Wilson has played like he deserves it so far this year but the Hawks’ D is worse than ours and JT made a video today detailing how much Russ struggled against the Cards’ amoeba at the end of the game, so if a team like say the Bills is able to grab an early lead and pin their ears back, Russ could end up throwing a real doozy out there. Meanwhile, the media has glommed hardcore onto the “Year of Tampa/LA, Year of GOATs” narrative with the ‘Ning winning the Cup and the Rays going to the WS and LeBron putting the Lakers on his back in the bubble, and they’re gonna ride that narrative “healing the nation from COVID the way that the Yankees/D-Backs WS and the Patriots did after 9-11.”

That having been said, I think there’s a non-zero possibility of Drew winning a “Susan Lucci” MVP if there’s a huge clump of QBs at the top of the stats with little separation between them, but we would at minimum have to finish first in the NFC and beat the Bucs by two games in the South, and either be first in the whole league or hope that a team like the Steelers or Titans finish first in the AFC and we are tied or ahead of Kansas City. IOW, an inside straight.

I remember when Peyton Manning had to sit out an entire season at Indianapolis after his neck surgery and the Colts became the laughing stock of the league during his absence. As a result there were some serious discussions in the sports media that Manning should have been considered for the MVP award that year simply because his team was nothing without him.

And before that season, we all joked that they would still crown him MVP, or at least just barely lose.

Dude it's called "Most Valuable Player" not "Most Efficient Player". Not sure why you're factoring interceptions so high in your ranking. Honest question: Why are interceptions so important in your mind to who wins MVP???

No QB is doing more with less this year, that's why Wilson should be MVP if he keeps this up. Just my opinion.

Wilson isn't doing more with less. He literally has a lethal duo at WR. Rodgers and him are the same boat. Both are carrying their teams. How they play is affects the outcome immensely.

If he performs in these next two road games(Chicago and Tampa) like he has the last 4, Drew has to be in the conversation for MVP. Since week 2 he has passed for close to 300 yards a game and been lights out.

Drew also has done what MVPs do, that is put their team on thier back. He has been able to lead his team to victories despite an Injury to M.T and this last game without Sanders. Not too many QBs could lead their team to victory without their two top WRs on such short notice as Drew did. Not only did the Saints win yesterday but Drew was dominant. Im not even sure Mahomes could do that if you took his two best weapons away.
Maybe just maybe

If this team goes 14-2 with a first round bye and Drew ends the season with 40 TDs and 6 interceptions, then yes they would have to give it to him.

Outduel Mahomes and he'd be in the lead at that point if we haven't lost a game.

What - didn't you hear Collinsworth explain it - "anybody" could be making those throws because of the pocket the o-line was maintaining...

Meaning: Drew will NEVER be considered MVP.
