Drew Brees Speaks on Saints Coaching Search and the Possibility of Having Future Role With the Team (2 Viewers)

Any other former player besides Jerry West have any success in the front office our their sport? He’s all I can think of

I’ve always thought John Elway going back to the Broncos as a GM and getting them another Super Bowl win is one of the not talked about enough yet really cool stories in NFL history.

Would be awesome to see if Brees could pull something like that off someday.

I think now that Tom Brady is doing his thing as a minority owner with the Raiders, Drew will want to get involved in some capacity. I hope it's with the Saints and not the Broncos or anywhere else. I like that he loves our city and feels like he's still part of it. I think he would be a great GM one day.

Green Bay LOVED their QB - Bart Starr the way NOLA loves Drew. Loved him so much, they wanted him to be their HC. FWIW, Drew may or may not be successful in a new role with the team, but for now I'll just leave this here:

Dang, seeing this, it’s almost as if there’s historical precedent of it being very difficult for teams to remain good for awhile after losing a HOF coach and QB.

Crazy!

But Geezy they still had their quarterback! He was… just doing a different job with significantly harder demands! 🤭
