Drew Brees (2 Viewers)

NO int's with a very high completion % and he is throwing to very young, inexperienced guys...great game! Now if we could only get the running game going....I really think we need to look for a OT in the offseason who could play LT thus letting J Brown who is a VERY GOOD run blocker move back to the right side.

Overall, great game today. One we had to have to regain some momentum. 6-2 at the half way point...who would have ever thought?

He's a SOLID quarterback, IMO. And he has a great deal of confidence...a great comeback, today, after last weeks loss.

More then just solid. A friggen rock. A piece of granite if you will. Something to really build a franchise on.

I don't think we should make Jammal change positions that much. He's only in his second year and I dunno how he'd do if he had to swap again and play at a different position each of his first 3 years.

His stats and his QB rating will never show how good he makes our offensive line look. I'm sorry to say that our line is bad at run blocking and they are bad at pass blocking. Thank god we have the best QB I have ever seen inside a pocket. Brees has the most incredible feel for the pressure around him, where it is coming from and how to make one step moves to avoid it.

Yeah our line is terrible at pass blocking. We should replace all of them. Drew was constantly being knocked down all day. If he were behind a line can actually play he probably would have thrown for over 300 yards and three touchdowns.

The line didn't play very well today. Drew made several throws using his instincts. He is amazing at feeling pressure and avoiding it. Absolutely amazing. He has eyes in the back of his head.

Sarcasm not needed. While I wouldn't necessarily say that they are BAD at pass blocking, I do think that they are being helped tremendously by Brees' moxy in the pocket and the scheme that we are running. Bottom line is that we are having to run an offense that compensates for the lack of a really good Oline (quick passes, rollouts, chip blocks, etc.). Imagine how much more the playbook would be opened up if we could rely on the line to hold off the rush unassisted, not to mention open holes in the running game.

Not to say I think they are horrible, as they obviously aren't, but I do think that there is still a lot of room for improvement there. Perhaps all they need is some more time to gel. Anyhoo, it's just nice to have a coach and QB that knows how to play to the stregths of the team.

With the horrible performance by Grossman today and McNabb in a slump, I wouldn't hesitate to say that Brees is the best QB in the league besides Manning and Brady.

The most outstanding thing about Drew Brees is how cool he stays under pressure and how he is always looking downfield. He displays outstanding pocket awareness. Beautiful touch on all his passes.

Drew was great today. And it wasn't just his passing, but again his trademark game-management appeared today and was part of the win.

Did anyone else notice that play with about 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter- we had a personnel problem or a lineup problem and the receivers (TE especially) were confused. Instead of immediately calling timeout to fix the problem (like 28 QB's in the NFL would have done), Brees told them to chill out and waited til one second was left- then called timeout. He knew we were calling TO anyway, so might as well milk the clock. That kind of solid QBing is something we haven't had in a long, long time. If ever.

Drew was great today.

Drew Brees made a statement today. After a crummy performance last week he came back with a dominating performance this week. The Bucs were only in this game for about 15 minutes in the first half. In the second half, Brees, Colston, Devery, and Deuce took it over.

Brees is quickly proving to be the Saints best free agent signing, ever........

I think he may have been first called "Cool Brees" in college.

Now in the NFL, he is starting to become "The Cool Brees" .

He has thrown for over 300 in his last 3 straight. I think he is strting to get comfortable and will only get better. Probowl numbers for sure!
