Brees is part of the national media and I can guarantee you that he wants his opinion to be taken seriously. Brees had some criticisms for the Saints when he called their game last season. I simply don't see Brees not giving his honest opinion in favor of "fluff". It is possible to maintain one's class while giving an honest, well thought out opinion.

If Brees is doing fluff, he will never be taken seriously as a commentator. If you don't think Brees wants to be taken seriously and considered a top commentator, then I don't think you've been watching him for the last 15 years in my opinion.

He was brutally honest about our team last year when asked for his opinion, He definitely wasn't blowing rainbows up our behinds lol. I agree with you, he is giving his honest opinion on the matter. To further prove this, Emanuel Sanders said the exact same thing on GMF regarding Jameis and his work ethic. When all teammates are saying the same thing from their own personal observation , especially Sanders who has no ties to the Saints, it's the truth

Brees said, “I think he will come back stronger than ever because I know his work ethic. I think it is set up for success with Jameis. You continue to build pieces around him, that will help him be successful.”

Brees is a positive guy …no doubt….and he positively watched Jameis work his way back to a starting QB ….he was part of the process….I’ll take him at his word this time….still a lot of hurt feelings about Jameis….it’s kind of sad really

Nope. Pretty sure that Brees thinks that no QB in the first round could ever be better than Winston, Winston took less money to sign for the Saints despite no other teams being interested in him, and there is no reason to even consider drafting another QB because Winston is the man.

2. Point #2: I'm with Drew, who wouldn't exaggerate about Jameis' work ethic. Nobody, repeat, NOBODY in the NFL worked harder to keep the competitive edge (mentally & physically) than Drew Brees. So, for Drew to give Jameis kudos like he did... makes me believe it's something we need to sit up and take note about.

3. Jameis was a #1 pick in the NFL for a reason. He was a Heisman trophy winner for a reason. Plus, the man is hungry AND dedicated. I'm looking for either Jameis or CGM to be "Comeback Player of the Year," with Jameis to be a strong contender for MVP.
