There are posters here who simply refuse by any means to give Winston ANY credit. They are quick to point to his 30 interception season and just as quick to overlook his 5K passing yard season. They will go so far as to claim that Tampa's defense was top 10 while he was there which is absolutely false. These people have no rational reason to not like Winston other than the fact that he is Jameis Winston. Those are the haters and it's not hard to spot them.Where is the Jameis hater? And who’s dissing what Drew said? Lol.

Does this not count as an assumption? That’s just an opinion that quite a few seem to believe or want to believe. Basing that on his two year contract means nothing. The contract is twofold and serves both parties equally at this time. That’s it. Reading any deeper into it is just an assumption.
I believe you but just can’t wrap my head around any Saints fan actively rooting against one of our players. Just doesn’t add up for me.There are posters here who simply refuse by any means to give Winston ANY credit. Winston has faults and he has things that he needs to improve on but at the end of the day, outside of landing Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers or Watson, which we didn't, there was no other QB's available or who even made sense to bring in unless the goal for the season was to tank for a better draft pick.
Brees has been and will always be a beloved and respected QB of the New Orleans Saints. When Brees said something, people listened and took him at his word on it. His opinion on a player or players was taken as truth for all intents and purposes. It isn't until now that he has a positive outtake on Winston that his take is seen as "fluff" or it's dismissed as Brees not willing to be critical of fellow players. Here's a newsflash. Brees is no longer playing. Brees is a commentator who is paid to commentate and give his opinion. As I stated previously, everything about Brees tells me that his goal is for his opinion to be taken seriously. That won't happen with "fluff".
There are a lot of folks on this site that were wrong about TH7 and it's been a bitter pill for them to swallow. But the fact remains that they were wrong and Allen pretty much put a big-arse exclamation point on them being wrong about TH7 being an NFL QB. That crowd is still holding onto that bitterness and it reveals itself when anyone has something positive to say about Winston. Hell, there's people seriously talking about spending 4 1st round picks and a 2nd on a QB in THIS draft, one of the weakest for QB in years.
It's irrational the disdain that some here have for a guy who won the Heisman, won NFL rookie of the year and is one of only 4 QB's to throw for 5K in a season. But 30 interceptions.....while conveniently ignoring the rest. That's hate and it's stupid.
I do recall him saying something about how he was dissapointed that Humperdoo didnt make that catch in a game a while back. Drew said the throw was on the money, had the right touch and was headed straight to hands at an idea angle that maximizes catch potential
................
10 minutes later....... the spin of the earth was favorable that day. That is my essay on why Hump should of made that catch.
I’m sure they’re here, maybe a few…but I see the term hater thrown around all too often for someone daring to have their own opinion.I think you've been on this site long enough to know there here. Please.
What perplexes me.Does this not count as an assumption?

It's perfectly natural to have doubts Winston becomes our next franchise QB especially considering we've only had one in Drew Brees. Unfortunately for the next guy, that is the measuring stick. I have my doubts as well but I think Winston has the tools to become the 2nd best QB in Saints history behind Brees.I believe you but just can’t wrap my head around any Saints fan actively rooting against one of our players. Anyhow, I hope Jameis lights it up and becomes our next franchise QB. I have my doubts that will happen but I’m pulling for the young man 100%.
All solid points, hadn’t thought of it from that angle. (Your last paragraph especially)It's perfectly natural to have doubts Winston becomes our next franchise QB especially considering we've only had one in Drew Brees. The fact of the matter is that franchise QB's don't come along often. You'd be hard-pressed to name multiple franchise QB's for each NFL team. 49ers, Cowboys, Colts and Steelers are really the only teams I can think of that have had multiple franchise QB's. Some teams like the Lions and Cardinals have never had a franchise QB...not one that won anything of significance.
I don't actually think any real Saints fans are actively rooting against one of our own players and by extension our own team. I just think that those folks will point to the defense, the play calling, breaks in the game and pretty much anything else rather than acknowledging any positive plays by Winston. They still want the team to win. However, they want the team to win in spite of Winston rather than because of Winston.
