IMO it's never a good idea to pay for a player that Philly or the Rams are willing to let go.

If we are going to trade for or pay for a vet TE, I'd rather trade for Mayer from the Raiders. That is unless Godert only costs a 7th and will come on a cheap deal.

Sure, but you have to work the count and pick your pitch. A low outside slider from Philly is not a pitch you can drive.

After beating that baseball analogy to death, I think if we want to take a shot at a TE in the trade market Mayer makes sense unless Godert's cost is a 6th or a 7th and his salary is low. He didn't seem to be aging too well in Philly and his decline is likely to be steep.

I like that comp. Goedert was just a guy when Ertz was there, but he could catch and block and developed into a decent TE. Moreau is on that track.

Foster hasn't got the opportunity to succeed these past years under these mediocre offense. When he had to spend most of the time blocking, kind of hard to show people that he can catch the ball. If you just tune in to watch the Saints, you would think Kamara is mediocre too. Not in favor of trading high draft picks for him. Maybe 6th or lower.
